Description: NEW Google Earth is an app that educators are using to give students a richer hands-on experience and a better point of reference. While looking through images in a textbook is great, it can’t beat virtually walking down the streets of Japan. We’ll cover how to use it with our littlest learners.

Description: Are you a newbie to Google Earth and need a basic introduction with classroom application?! This is the session for you! We will start with a fun, interactive introduction to all the features in Google Earth (for new users) and work our way into lesson ideas and classroom implications across all content areas and grade levels. We will end the session with a little friendly competition and demo slam fun!

Title: Around the World in Just One Day!

Description: Come meet the NEW Google Earth! Join us as we take virtual field trips, explore parts of the earth we've never seen, and bring the world into the classroom. We'll also look at other MyMaps for creating custom maps and Tour Builder. In Google Earth, we'll go on a scavenger hunt together as we discover ways to integrate Google's newest geo tool into your curriculum, discovering ways to grow our students' global competencies.

Title: Creating Global Learners with Google My Maps

Description: Helping our students make sense of the world is increasingly important today. We can by bringing Geo literacy & Geo awareness into the classroom curriculum. Come explore and create with the ever evolving Google Maps & My Maps. Learn how our students (and educators too) can import and visualize data right in My Maps as well as style, layer, and measure, add media, and make simple custom maps. We'll also highlight ideas for classroom use and sample Geo literacy projects.

Description: Go behind the curtain of Google Earth and explore the patterns and processes of kml. In this relatively advanced session we will uncover the basics of kml; blending Google Earth for desktop with the text editor of your choice. Then take it to a whole new Earth.
