I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Hacettepe University. I worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at HEC Montreal and CIRRELT - Interuniversity Research Center on Enterprise Networks, Logistics and Transportation, Canada (2015-2017). I received my Ph.D. degree in Operational Research/Management Science (2015), under supervision of professors Tolga Bektaş, Gilbert Laporte and Ola Jabali, from the Southampton Business School of University of Southampton, UK. I am the recipient of the Doctoral Award from the Operational Research Society.

My research mainly focuses on the application of mathematical models, exact and metaheuristic optimization algorithms to sustainable transportation, logistics and supply chain problems. 

My research has been supported by the TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye) 1001 - The Scientific and Technological Research Projects Funding Program, 3501 (CAREER) National Young Researchers Career Development Grant and 1512 -  Entrepreneurship Support Grant (BIGG), and KOSGEB R&D and Innovation Support Grant.

I serve as an Editorial Board Member of Computers & Operations Research I am a collaborating member of CIRRELT.  I was a member of the advisory board of the TÜBİTAK Engineering Research Group. I founded Rotamopt, a logistics optimisation start-up based at ODTÜ Teknokent. I am the author of the Turkish business novel Lonca: Ecommerce, Logistics and Technology.

I have published 40+ articles in leading academic journals including Transportation Research Part B, C and E, European Journal of Operational Research, Computers & Operations Research, Journal of the Operational Research Society, International Journal of Production Economics, Socio-Economic Planning Sciences, International Journal of Production Research, Computers & Industrial Engineering, Flexible Services and Manufacturing Journal, OR Spectrum, International Transactions in Operational Research, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems and among others. 

I actively collaborate with companies, NGOs and governmental bodies to optimize their operations and improve efficiency through powerful decision analytics.
