[May 2026] Dr. Kim gave an invited presentation in the Early-Career Research session and received a Young Engineer Award (신진공학자상) at the Spring Conference of the Korean Society of Visualization (한국가시화정보학회).
[April 2026] Dr. Kim presented his recent work at the Spring Conference of the Korean Society for Computational Fluid Engineering (한국전산유체공학회), in the Application of CFD session. The work was conducted in collaboration with Brown University, the University of Washington, Princeton University, and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
[March 2026] Dr. Kim was invited to deliver a Faculty-Student Seminar (사제동행세미나) at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Kookmin University (국민대학교), where he presented on multiphase flows and career development. The seminar was highly engaging and enjoyable.
[March 2026] Dr. Kim officially launched the Computational and AI-Driven Flow Modeling Lab at Kookmin University. The lab focuses on computational, theoretical, and data-driven approaches to study multiphase flows, environmental flows, and industrial systems.
[January 2026] Colleagues from the Wilhelmus Lab at Brown University hosted a farewell lunch for Dr. Kim ahead of his new position at Kookmin University.
[January 2025] We participated in the Global Research Program organized by the Sejong Academy of Science and Arts in South Korea, where we delivered lectures and hands-on workshops on satellite imagery and simulation-based approaches to climate change observation. Through these activities, we enhanced public understanding of Arctic science and strengthened international visibility of ONR-supported research.
