Project Statement:     

This piece expresses a transformation and speaks to my relationship with home in Florida. Roaches are not just pests to me; they are survivors; they hide, they deplete, and despite my hatred for them, they are my familiar. My work explores the uneasy yet inescapable relationship between self and environment, comfort and consumption, belonging and becoming.
