** Looking for a low-pressure way to connect with new people over coffee? ☕
Whether you’re looking to expand your social circle, make a friend, or maybe even spark a little romance (if that’s your thing!), this app makes it easy—and fun.
Here’s how it works:
You start by filling out a few basic details about yourself. Don’t worry — only your name (or nickname) and postcode are required, and the postcode is only used to define the neighbourhood you’re interested in — not necessarily your home postcode. You can share your age, gender, marital status, education level or job, and list a few interests if you feel like it. Want to add a photo? Go for it by tapping +Photo to select a picture from your photo library! Prefer to stick with the default photo? Just tap -Photo. Tapping Save will store this data only on your phone.
Then tap the My Venue button at the bottom of the screen. First, choose something to go into Identifier at the top of the screen to help people recognise you (fun hat? favourite book?). Next, tap Choose Venue and enter the name of a coffee shop or another cozy venue, plus the city in which it’s located. Example: Cafe: Costa Coffee, Town: George Street Hove. Tap OK and you should see a map pin displayed. Then select a date and time. Finally, when you’re happy, tap Save Venue — and voilà, your details are out there for others to find. Oh, and it automatically requests access to your calendar to create an entry. Just a small coda: you can only have one active venue at a time.
Tap Venue Map at the bottom of the screen, then Venues to see all the locations in your chosen neighbourhood created by other app users. Just tapping on any one will give you details about the user who created it — including yours, if you’ve created one. Interested? Then tap Save Date to create a calendar entry, including the user’s profile. Then, just pop along, grab a coffee, and introduce yourself. This is also the page you use if you want to delete your venue — just tap on the your pin, and then the Del Venue button. If you can’t see your pin, then just change your postcode on the Profile page to something closer, and save it before going back to the Venues screen again.
Here’s the twist: the other person doesn’t know you’re coming. So, no pressure! If you get there and decide not to meet, no harm done. It’s all about creating a casual, zero-commitment way to connect with others.
It’s not really a dating app… but it could be, if you want it to be. More than anything, it’s about bringing people together for good conversation and great coffee.
Ready to give it a whirl? Your next coffee chat is just a tap away!
🛡️ A Last Word on Safety
Try to choose venues you’re familiar with — places that are public, well-lit, and where there are plenty of people around. If you’re unsure, take a screenshot of the venue details and share it with a friend before heading out. And avoid sharing any personal information that could be used to contact you outside the app (like your address or phone number). Remember: you’re always free to walk away. Your comfort comes first.
