The Metro Finance Congress is the flagship academic seminar event of the Department of Financial Management, in collaboration with the Junior Financial Executives - PUP. Held annually during the academic term, this event features emerging themes in the banking and finance industry led by a curated line-up of finance professionals from known companies and institutions.
In light of the widespread trends and issues in the financial landscape, this year’s MFC theme focuses on sustainable finance as an approach to investments that consider the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:
SDG 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth
SDG 10 - Reduced Inequalities
SDG 13 - Climate Action
SDG 17 - Partnerships for the Goals
Delegates of the event shall be immersed in topics such as investing with ESG considerations, the role of finance professionals in the climate crisis, how financial technology can be instrumental in green initiatives, and other diverse financial practices towards a sustainable future. It will also include a breakout session focused on career talks to provide students with inspiration and knowledge to help them make educated choices about their future professions.
To further engage the attendees with the intricacies of finance and SDG, a recycled train art competition will be held to challenge students in making decorative art using recycled materials, as well as a spoken word poetry contest where students can freely promote the vital role of finance in achieving a sustainable future. Moreover, an exhibition of physical booth set-ups of finance and career-related exhibits will be organized to immerse the students in engaging sessions with the event sponsors.

This event serves as a vital platform for fostering academic excellence, professional growth, and collective engagement among Financial Management students, while strengthening camaraderie within the academic community.
With the title “8th Finance Week | SlingShot Saga: Striking Toward Financial Triumph,” this year’s celebration draws inspiration from the strategic dynamics of Angry Birds, blended with the enduring principles of classical elements—power, precision, resilience, and balance. Much like a slingshot that requires careful calculation, timing, and direction to achieve its target, financial success demands foresight, discipline, and strategic decision-making. The classical elements symbolize the foundational forces that shape financial mastery, emphasizing that true triumph is achieved through the harmonious balance of strength, strategy, and adaptability.
Through a series of intellectually stimulating competitions, dynamic performances, and interactive engagements, the 8th Finance Week seeks to provide a comprehensive learning experience beyond the classroom. It aims to sharpen students’ analytical thinking, strategic planning, and collaborative skills while instilling values essential to ethical and effective financial leadership. Ultimately, the event aspires to empower future finance professionals to face challenges with precision, resilience, and confidence as they navigate an ever-evolving financial landscape.

The General Assembly, formerly known as the Year-End Assembly, remains one of the most anticipated events for JFINEX-PUP, offering students of the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Financial Management (BSBAFM) a well-deserved break from academic pressures. It serves as a platform for camaraderie and renewal, fostering meaningful connections within the community through engaging activities and shared experiences.
This year’s theme, “Gilded Kingdom: The Golden Souls in Sync,” draws inspiration from the dazzling universe of the K-pop Demon Hunters movie, emphasizing unity, creativity, and collective strength. The event transforms into a vibrant stage where artistic performances, motivational speakers, and fantasy-inspired activities come together to energize participants and celebrate diversity. Mirroring the harmony of the heroes of Honmoon, the assembly highlights the power of collaboration and community spirit.
Beyond academics, the gathering offers a spirited respite filled with fun, artistic showcases, and opportunities for students to showcase their talents. It aims to foster a sense of adventure, inner strength, and connection, making it a memorable chapter in the shared journey of the community. Through energy, creativity, and unity, the assembly exemplifies the magic that emerges when individuals come together with a common purpose.

The Freshmen, Shiftees, and Transferees Orientation 2025 is an annual event organized collaboratively by the Department of Financial Management and the Junior Financial Executives-PUP. This event is dedicated to welcoming incoming students to the BSBA FM program at our institution, aiming to equip them with a comprehensive understanding of our academic offerings and community.
The event will highlight the introduction of officials from the university, the College of Accountancy and Finance officials, and the faculty of the Department of Financial Management. Furthermore, the central aim of this event is to provide the Financial Management program’s curriculum while shedding light on the wide array of career possibilities and prospects within the dynamic realms of business and finance. The Project EmpowHER: Strength Behind Every Home is an outreach program organized by the Junior Financial Executives – PUP (JFINEX-PUP), in collaboration with the Department of Financial Management, designed to support and empower forty (40) single mothers while promoting a more inclusive and responsive community. The initiative recognizes the critical role single mothers play as primary providers and decision-makers for their families, often while managing financial responsibilities independently.
Through this outreach, Project EmpowHER aims to provide a structured and supportive environment where single mothers are informed, respected, and empowered. By improving financial awareness and confidence, the initiative contributes not only to individual stability but also to broader community development rooted in inclusivity and shared responsibility.

The Year Level Webinar is an annual activity conducted by the Department of Financial Management organized by the Year Level Representatives, Class Presidents, and Representatives under the BSBA Major in Financial Management program. This year’s webinar will focus on delivering in-depth insights and practical guidance on safe and secure banking, as well as effective smart savings and loans. It aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve financial literacy and make informed decisions as they confidently plan and manage their financial journey. The event’s participants shall be 1st Year Students of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Financial Management (BSBAFM) to fulfill its mission of embarking students on a journey filled with invaluable knowledge and insights into financial decision-making, thus making the webinar entitled ‘Rise to Riches: Financial Success through Money Wise Banking’.

This transformation reflects a future that is not approaching—it’s already happening at our fingertips, growing as fast as technology itself. This event invites participants to explore how financial services seamlessly become part of everyday activities. Embedded finance opens up new and exciting opportunities in the finance world, transforming how we interact with financial services in our daily lives.

Finance Week is an Annual Event conducted by the Department of Financial Management organized by the Junior Financial Executives - PUP for its founding anniversary. This event will be participated by students, professors, performers and the organization. The students will engage in a variety of competitions and activities that will challenge their skills and wit. Additionally, cooperative contests will be held where they will need to demonstrate their social competence through Academic and Non-Academic Activities.
The theme for this year's 7th Finance Week is “7th Finance Week | Pixel Blast: Power-up Your Financial Game!”. Inspired by retro arcade and pixel art vibes, this theme aims to energize participants as they navigate a fun and engaging journey throughout the week. The event will showcase their skills, strategy, and teamwork, encouraging a competitive yet friendly atmosphere. Just like leveling up in a game, participants will be empowered to elevate their financial knowledge and abilities in an exciting and playful way.
Apart from that, the department will ensure the event to be fascinating as there will be several guest performers' performances, prizes, awards and surprises.

The primary objectives of this General Assembly include promoting the ongoing donation drive of the organization, benefiting the chosen foundation for the academic year. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the selected beneficiaries.
This year's assembly will feature memorable performances by renowned guest artists. Additionally, our resource speaker will engage in discussions on identifying whether students in the program are experiencing burnout or laziness, offering insightful tips on overcoming these challenges. Sharing the stage with them are the JFINEX-PUP Sub-Organizations, showcasing their priceless skills. The primary goal of this event is to inspire students to persevere and reach new heights despite the challenges they may face.

The Project YOUnique: Yielding Opportunities and Understanding is an outreach program organized by the Junior Financial Executives - PUP. Dedicated to empowering individuals and fostering stronger, more inclusive communities. This initiative emphasizes creating opportunities for personal growth while building bridges of understanding among diverse groups.
The title reflects the initiative’s mission to empower Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). It celebrates individuality, recognizing each person’s unique abilities and potential. YOUnique emphasizes valuing each person's individuality, encouraging the recognition of PWDs' strengths and contributions. This focuses on breaking stereotypes, highlighting the strengths of PWDs, and helping them enhance their skills and develop their knowledge about finance. While this promotes empathy and inclusion, it also fosters an environment where PWDs are heard, respected, and empowered as equals.

In the heart of Manila, nestled within the bustling district of Quiapo, lies Hospicio De San Jose, a haven for the elderly seeking comfort and care in their golden years. Recognizing the importance of supporting our elders, Project Eldearly emerges as a beacon of hope and compassion. Mula Sa'yo, Para kina Lola't Lolo translates to "From You, For Grandparents," and a word play for Polytechnic University of the Philippines’ tagline “Mula Sa’yo, Para sa Bayan'' symbolizing the collaborative effort needed to bring joy and relief to the elderly residents of Hospicio De San Jose.
Provide the basic needs of the elderly of Hospicio De San Jose through monetary and in-kind donations.
Promote inclusivity and assistance to the elderly through the activities to be conducted during the outreach program.
To strengthen the organization’s advocacy of community involvement and development.

The Metro Finance Congress is an annual academic webinar event of the Department of Financial Management of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines - Sta. Mesa, Manila, conducted in collaboration with the Junior Financial Executives - PUP. The event highlights numerous financial topics as well as career related matters in order to expand financial literacy and professional competency among Financial Management students of the university and the rest of its attendees coming from partner schools and organizations within the metro. To realize the manifestation of its main objective, several speakers are invited every year to discuss timely and relevant subjects and issues that concern the academic and practical undertaking of students in the financial industry.
The theme for this year's Metro Finance Congress is "PREMIERE 4: PHIL-LIANCE | The Modern Pursuit to Global Financial Ambition." The said theme is inspired by “cinema” of which Baz Luhrmann’s “The Great Gatsby” and Marvel’s “The Eternals” are combined to make up the overall concept.
In accordance with the title’s notion of pursuing a global financial ambition, the topic line-up will cover hands-on financial knowledge and practices apt for student use which will be significant in their personal and professional ventures. The 2-day event will have 2 sessions each; the morning and afternoon session.

Students, faculty, and the organization are going to hold the 5th Finance Week to celebrate the Department of Financial Management's founding anniversary. The students will take part in a wide range of competitions and activities that will bring their capabilities and wits to the test. There will also be cooperative competitions where students must display their social competence.
The theme for this year's Finance Week will be "Alice in Borderland," a well-known Netflix series. This will promote a competitive atmosphere among the students, which is appropriate given the nature of the event - bringing out their skills and ability to come out on top.
Aside from that, there will be a series of performances by guest performers, as well as number of prizes to make the occasion exciting for the department.

The Year End Assembly, one of the most anticipated events, will serve as a break from scholarly activities for Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Financial Management (BSBA-FM) students and partner organization students, as well as a donation drive to benefit the chosen foundation that we will assist at this academic year. The profits raised by this benefit concert will be donated to the beneficiaries.
This year's assembly will feature memorable performances by renowned guest artists along with discussions from our resource speakers on themes including Filipino behaviors and how to experience new things without experiencing Fear of Missing Out. Also appearing on stage and showcasing their priceless skills are the JFINEX-PUP Sub Organizations. Thus, the primary goal of this event is to inspire students to keep reaching new heights despite their challenges.

The SFT - Opening | Shifters, Freshmen, and Transferees Orientation 2022 is an event held annually by the Department of Financial Management in a coordinated effort with the Junior Financial Executives-PUP, with the primary vision of providing incoming students of BSBA-FM at Polytechnic University of the Philippines a solid understanding of our program. Along with the descriptive content of this agenda, the introduction of the new executive officials and the conspicuous inclusion of our venerable wing—the College of Accountancy and Finance, where each VMGO is presented—are one of the main highlights. The Department of Financial Management's faculty members will also be featured.
Furthermore, the central objective of this event is to elaborate on the various components of this course, Financial Management, as well as to uncover prospective professions and opportunities in the sphere of business and finance.

Project YOUTH - TURN is an outreach program organized by the Junior Financial Executives - PUP which seeks to provide basic necessities to the less privileged children residing near Polytechnic University of the Philippines - Sta. Mesa, Manila. Its primary purpose is to support beneficiaries' health and development while also raising awareness about poverty. Through this program, the organization hopes to foster a culture of giving and a supportive local community, especially in these challenging times.
This initiative will create a way for individuals who want to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Provide and assist selected children in meeting their basic needs through monetary and in-kind donations.
Promote health and development of children by conducting a feeding program and exercise activity.
Offer assistance to individuals in need because of youth, age, illness, disability, financial difficulties, and perhaps other detriments.
To strengthen the advocacy of advancement and community development.

For nearly two years, we have been facing not only the virus but the economic repercussions it entails. Luckily, most of us get by in our daily lives with not much problems. But it's not the same story for some of our fellow students. In a time full of uncertainty and a lack of opportunities, surviving becomes more challenging.
With this, JFINEX-PUP introduces to you Project PISO-NNECT which aims to provide financial assistance for selected Financial Management students.
All the proceeds will go to a number of FM students who are facing financial difficulties in the hopes of alleviating their situations. Any amount donated is highly appreciated.
