THE ANCIENT FABLES

The Ancient Fables

Here is an index of those ancient stories from the varied civilisations of the Material Plane, passed down through many aeons. Mostly, surprisingly enough, are true stories of what happened long ago, but through many millennia have been blown way out of proportion. Some are stories of the birth of gods, whilst others are of mortals who rose to the level of gods themselves.

Note: Quite a lot of these are real events. Mythology however brews legends, whilst history keeps a relatively dry account of events.

Genesis

An epic passed through generations and tens of thousands of years, ingrained deep in our culture, to be passed down for ages to come.

Epic - Early Age of Fire

A Golden Boat on the River

"Two brothers founded this land, our golden empire of ten thousand years. Two brothers from Lavonia who came to rule a continent."

Poem - Late Second Age of Dragonkind

The Sky Dancer

In the windswept deserts west, there lies a place full of mystery. Just beyond the reaches of Yan Shin’s grasp, a city rises from the dust...

Fable - Mid-Late Second Age of Dragonkind

Song of Red Mountains

"We must keep our traditions alive, in the face of greatest adversity. May the voices of our kind never be extinguished."

Ballad - Mid First Age of Dragonkind

The Tale of Two Brothers

"They say there lives a dragon god, atop the holy peak. None have seen him though, yet we believe and pray, for the rains are kind."

Poem - Mid Age of Fire
