On this course the emphasis is - fine art.
You are able to develop as an artist by learning about and using a range of techniques that include drawing, painting, sculpture and printmaking.
Your study of artists and designers, past and present, will also help you to work imaginatively on your own ideas.
Research and preparatory work are an important part of the course.
This course is best suited to students who want to go into the creative industry or study a creative-based degree.
Students will follow briefs set by tutors that relate to a specific unit. You will be expected to annotate your work, write about the work of artists and designers. Written work will be a natural and essential part of the course.

This course is a specialist graphic design course and prepares students to gain a variety of skills based on graphic design briefs.
Coursework is not just computer-based; you will be expected to draw, paint, and use traditional materials alongside digital medium.
The course covers the following skills; drawing, using materials and processes, visual communication, typography, image making and generating ideas and concepts.
Practical workshops in typography, drawing, printmaking, illustration and photography will enable learners to develop their skills.
This course explores the wide range of areas that are used day to day in the fashion and textiles industry.
Students will cover the creative elements of fashion and textiles which are delivered practically, through studio sessions, workshops and demonstrations.
The course makes use of activities to give you a comprehensive understanding of topics covered
You will learn about traditional and contemporary photographic techniques.
You will learn how to take black and white photographs, using manual 35mm cameras.
Developing, printing and darkroom techniques will be a core part of the course. Digital cameras will also be used and image manipulation working with computers and software such as Adobe Photoshop.
You will explore studio techniques and experimental photography through a strong emphasis on creativity and personal expression as well as skills and techniques.
This course is intended for the student who wants to specialise in 3D Design and wish to gain specialist knowledge of general 3D skills to prepare for a career in architecture, interior design, furniture or product design. There is a strong practical emphasis throughout, and assignments will often be related to the world of work and the commercial context.
Learners will develop a broad overview of how to generate, develop and communicate ideas in two and three-dimensions, drawing and 3D making being essential in this process.
