There are two opportunities of note regarding Cyber. These are Professional Development Training events (PDT's) that open up once a cadet has become a POC after attending Field Training and are highly recommended. The first PDT at Wright Patterson is recommended for anyone interested as it an excellent introduction to Cyber. The second in New York is recommended for those already familiar with computer security as it is a paid PDT and is more advanced.
AFIT ACE is a program open to all POC cadets that teaches concepts in cyber from the bottom up and is an excellent entry point into learning more about cyber. It is at the Air Force Institute of Technology in Wright Patterson Ohio. Nearby is also the National Museum of the US Air Force in Riverside Ohio so cadets interested in learning about the Air Force throughout its time should take the opportunity to visit.
AFRL ACE is a more advanced form of cyber education training and is an internship that is offered to POC. It is paid and is more suited to cadets with some experience in computer security. It is located in Rome New York and will expect cadets to already be familiar with computer security.
There are cadets in our organization who have either attended one of these training opportunities or are familiar with the process of applying. If you have any questions feel free to ask one of our cadets and we will provide an answer.
More information on these opportunities will be disclosed over the semester through Wing wide announcements.
