Pegbasher — DWG & PDF Viewer: Site Tools
Privacy policy and terms of use
Peg Basher Ltd (trading as Pegbasher)
Last updated: 20 October 2026
This page covers the Pegbasher — DWG & PDF Viewer: Site Tools app for Android ("the app"), published by Peg Basher Ltd. It explains what happens to your information when you use the app, and the terms you agree to by using it.
PRIVACY POLICY
Overview
The app has no accounts, no adverts and no tracking. Peg Basher Ltd does not collect, store or sell any personal data about you. Everything you do in the app stays on your phone, or in the folders you choose, unless you decide to share it.
Your location
If you allow it, the app uses your phone's GPS to show your position on drawings and maps, and to record where site photos and records were taken. Your location is used on your phone only. It is never sent to Peg Basher Ltd or to anyone else. You can turn location access off at any time in Android Settings → Apps → Pegbasher → Permissions; the rest of the app still works without it.
Your files
Drawings (DWG, DXF), PDFs, images, LandXML files and job files that you open are read on your phone and are not uploaded anywhere. Jobs, take-offs, markups and settings are kept on your phone, or in the job folder you choose. If you choose a folder that is synced to a cloud service (for example Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox), that service's own terms and privacy policy apply to the copies it keeps.
Site records and photos
Site records, notes and photos you take in the app are stored on your phone, with a backup copy in your job folder. Nothing is uploaded to Peg Basher Ltd. Photos and reports can include the date, time and GPS position, so check them before you share them with anyone.
Satellite imagery
When you switch on satellite imagery, the app downloads map tiles for the area on screen from Esri's World Imagery service. Esri receives the tile coordinates being shown and your phone's internet (IP) address, as happens with any website, but not your GPS position. If you choose a different imagery provider in Settings (such as Mapbox, Google or your own tile address), that provider receives the same information and its own terms apply.
Crash reports
If the app crashes, a short report is saved on your phone. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send it, from your own email app, where you can see exactly what it contains first. Crash reports contain technical details about the app and your phone's model and Android version. They do not include your drawings, files, photos or location.
Feedback
If you send feedback from the app, it opens your own email app with a message addressed to us. We only receive what you choose to send, and we use it only to reply to you and to improve the app.
Reports and exports
Reports, PDFs, DXF drawings and job files made by the app are saved or shared only where you choose. Once you share a file with someone else, what happens to it is up to them.
Payments
Subscriptions are bought and managed through Google Play. Google handles your payment details under its own privacy policy, and Peg Basher Ltd never sees your card details. The app only checks with Google Play whether your subscription is active. The free month is counted on your phone; the date it started is kept in the app's data (which Android may include in your phone's own backup) and in your job folder, and is never sent to Peg Basher Ltd.
Children
The app is a professional tool for construction and surveying and is not aimed at children.
Your rights
Because Peg Basher Ltd holds no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. Uninstalling the app removes its data from your phone; copies you have saved in job folders or shared elsewhere are not removed. If you have any questions about your privacy, contact us at the address below. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
TERMS OF USE
By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Licence to use the app
The app is owned by Peg Basher Ltd and is protected by copyright. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it on devices you own or control. This licence lets you use the app; it does not give you ownership of it. You may not copy, sell, modify, reverse engineer or redistribute the app, except where the law allows this and cannot be excluded by agreement.
Subscription and free trial
The app is free to download. Some features are free for good: the DWG, DXF and PDF viewer with measuring and markups, the drawings in your jobs, GPS scale factor and the quick calculators. The other features (Pegbasher Pro) need a subscription after a free month.
- For the first 30 days after you first open the app, the Pro features are free to use. There is nothing to sign up for, no payment details are needed, and there is nothing to cancel. The app counts the days on your phone.
- After the 30 days, the Pro features need a Pegbasher Pro subscription. It costs £15 a year (including VAT), billed through Google Play. The price in other countries is shown in Google Play before you subscribe.
- The subscription renews automatically each year unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- You can cancel at any time in the Google Play Store app: Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. If you cancel, you keep Pro until the end of the year you have paid for.
- Anything you made in the app stays yours. If the free month or your subscription ends, you can still open, view and share the jobs, take-offs, records and files you created.
- Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policy. This does not affect your legal rights.
Limitation of liability
1. Who the app is for. The app is designed for construction and surveying professionals, used in the course of their trade or business. By using it, you confirm that is how you use it.
2. A checking aid. The app is a guidance and cross-checking tool. It does not replace professional site engineering or surveying. Its results — including coordinates, levels, dimensions, areas, volumes, gradients, quantities, duct take-offs, any scale applied to a PDF or image, and the position of GPS and satellite imagery — depend on the drawings, data and settings you use, and may contain errors. Before you set out, excavate, build, pour concrete or order materials, every result you rely on must be independently verified by a competent person, using physical site measurement or calibrated survey instruments. Responsibility for setting out, dimensions and quantities stays with you.
3. Insurance. You are responsible for having suitable professional indemnity and other insurance for your work. The app does not replace that insurance.
4. As provided. Except as set out in clause 9, the app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that it will be free of errors, that it will work with every drawing or file, or that it will always be available.
5. Losses we are not responsible for. Except as set out in clause 9, we are not liable for any of the following, however caused: loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts or opportunity; delay; the cost of rework, remedial work or wasted materials; loss or corruption of data or files; or any indirect or consequential loss.
6. Maximum liability. Except as set out in clause 9, our total liability to you for everything arising from the app and these terms is limited to the greater of: (a) £250; or (b) the subscription fees you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
7. Free month and free features. While you are using the free month or the free features of the app, you have paid nothing, so, except as set out in clause 9, we have no liability to you.
8. Price and risk. You agree that the price of the app reflects the way risk is shared and limited in these terms, and that these limits are reasonable.
9. What is not limited. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or anything else that cannot be excluded or limited under the law of England and Wales. If you use the app as a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Third-party parts
DWG files are converted by GNU LibreDWG (© Free Software Foundation, Inc.), which runs as a separate program inside the app. LibreDWG is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 3 or later. Its source code, and the build script used for the app, are available at: https://github.com/Pegbasher/dwg2dxf-android. The GPL covers the converter only, not the rest of the app.
The OSTN15 and OSGM15 coordinate transformation data is © Ordnance Survey Limited, Land & Property Services and Ordnance Survey Ireland, released under the BSD licence.
Satellite imagery is provided by Esri (World Imagery: Esri, Maxar, Earthstar Geographics and the GIS User Community), under Esri's terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
Changes
We may update this policy and these terms from time to time, for example when the app changes. Any changes to this policy or these terms will be posted on this page, with a new "Last updated" date. If a change is significant, the app will ask you to accept it again.
