CACHE Privacy Policy
Effective date: [add date, e.g. July 15, 2026]
CACHE is built local-first. Your library lives on your device, not on our servers. We have no account system and we collect no analytics.
What we store
Everything you save — articles, highlights, notes, tags, reading stats, and AI results — is stored only on your device using Apple's on-device database. We do not keep a copy. There is no sign-up, no login, and no cloud account.
No tracking, no ads
CACHE contains no third-party analytics, no advertising, and no tracking identifiers. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell or share data with data brokers.
When data leaves your device
This happens only in three narrow cases, always started by you:
1. Fetching an article. When you save a link, your device requests that page directly from its website to make an offline copy. That request goes to the site you chose, not to us.
2. AI features. When you use summarize, ask, digest, or insight, only the text of the article you are acting on (or short excerpts for a pile digest) is sent to our secure AI proxy, which forwards it to a third-party AI provider to generate the result. Your library is never sent otherwise. AI results are stored on your device.
3. Purchases. Memberships and credit packs are handled entirely by Apple's App Store. We never see your payment details.
AI processing
Text you send for an AI feature is used only to produce your result and is not used to train models. We do not attach your name or an account to these requests because there is no account.
Your control
You can export everything (JSON, CSV, or highlights as Markdown) at any time from Settings, and you can permanently delete all data with Reset. Deleting the app also removes everything stored on the device.
Children
CACHE is a general-audience reading app and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Notifications
Optional reminders are scheduled locally on your device only if you turn them on. They are never sent from a server.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the new version here.
