Monsoon Srilanka - That one no one dares to do!!

Sri Lanka has quickly become one of our favorite spots for action-packed fun, and guess what? We think the monsoon season is the best time to dive into all the excitement! So, welcome to The Monsoon Sri Lanka, where your usual adventures get a serious upgrade in thrills and splash!

We’ve put together a list of must-do activities that will make your monsoon experience unforgettable. Hidden trails, uncharted terrains, and adventures no one has ever dared to put together. A version of Sri Lanka that is similar to our wildest experiences in the Western Ghats. Raw, unpredictable, and completely off the radar. Get ready for the wettest and wildest time of your life!

Abseiling down a waterfall during the rains, trekking through one of the best locations, and canyoneering through rugged gorges — This is Monsoon Sri Lanka, CAC style.

☔ITINERARY:

🇱🇰 Day-1 (Fri, 13-Jun):

A Day in Colombo The Capital

We arrive in Sri Lanka (Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) in Negombo) early in the morning of this day and travel to Colombo the Capital.
On this trip, we are not going to miss the chance to explore the heart of the country.
We will hop on tuk-tuks and take a city and food tour, exploring the wonders and tastes of Sri Lanka.
When the sun sets, we’ll head into a local market for some shopping, as we won’t have another day for this.
And this is just the beginning - The real adventure starts tomorrow!

🇱🇰 Day-2 (Sat, 14-Jun):

Kitulgala Canyoning & Rafting

We start the day towards Kitulgala. Once we reach, we will take a short hike through lush green forests to Kataran Oya Canyon.
Our first adventure will be navigating through the Kataran Oya Canyon with a mix of activities like hiking, swimming, jumping and rappelling.
At the end of the Canyon, we will rest and enjoy our packed picnic lunch, taking in the beautiful scenery before heading back down.
After lunch, the excitement continues as we raft down the Kelani River, tackling Class II and III rapids, perfect for both beginners and thrill-seekers.
After a full day of activity, we will come back to our accommodation in Kitulgala.

🇱🇰 Day-3 (Sun, 15-Jun):

Abseiling through the tough rains

After an early morning breakfast, we will travel for our next adventure in Bulathkohupitiya - Rikili Ella Abseiling. Don’t underestimate this one, it’s tougher than the Laxapana abseiling we usually tackle.
We’ll gear up for a 330-foot abseiling descent - one of the most daring adventures during the monsoon! Towering cascade, feeling the rush of water and the sheer excitement of the challenge. After the adventure, we’ll relax and enjoy the lower cascades before a well-earned lunch.
By evening, we’ll travel to our next adventure spot - Belihul Oya

🇱🇰 Day-4 (Mon, 16-Jun):

Baker's Bend - World's End Trail

Today, we’ll take on our last and toughest adventure: The Baker's Bend Trek! This trek is hard even in good weather, but during the monsoon, it’s even more challenging.
This 12kms trek will get you to a spectacular viewpoint offering panoramic views of Sri Lanka’s central highlands. For trekking enthusiasts, reaching Bakers Bend by foot is a memorable adventure.
With this, we wrap up the adventurous part of our journey and shift to a more relaxed exploration in the coming days.
By evening, we’ll head to Nuwara Eliya, a charming city known for its cool climate, rolling tea estates, and beautiful colonial-era bungalows, offering the perfect setting to unwind.

🇱🇰 Day-5 (Tue, 17-Jun):

Journey to Ella

After a well-earned rest, we’ll take a leisurely stroll through the charming town of Nuwara Eliya.
By morning, our adventure takes a magical turn as we board Sri Lanka’s iconic scenic train. This breathtaking journey winds through lush greenery, rolling hills, and endless tea plantations, offering a glimpse into the island’s soul.
Our ride ends in Ella, a true backpacker’s paradise, where adventure meets tranquility. Beyond the breathtaking landscapes, Ella comes alive with cozy cafés, unique restaurants, and a buzzing nightlife, making it the perfect place to unwind and explore.

🇱🇰 Day-6 (Wed, 18-Jun):

Tuk-tuks and Bye-byes

Spend the day like a true traveler—riding around in tuk-tuks, explore the charming streets of Ella. We’ll visit the stunning Nine Arch Bridge, an iconic railway marvel surrounded by lush greenery, perfect for that last breathtaking photo.
After that, we’ll hop between cozy cafés, enjoying delicious local treats and soaking in the laid-back vibe of this backpacker’s paradise.
By evening, we’ll make our way back to Negombo (Airport), where our incredible journey comes to an end. With hearts full of adventure and memories to last a lifetime, we’ll catch our flights back to India.

✖ Cost incidental to any change in the itinerary/stay on account of flight cancellation due to bad weather, ill health, roadblocks, landslides, floods and/or any factors beyond control. If flights get cancelled due to weather, we will arrange alternative stay at minimal cost.

Basics:

Total number of slots: 14
Age group: 18 to 40
A valid Indian Passport with at-least 6 months validity is required.
Gender ratio: To encourage female travelers, we will ensure that there is a min of 40% female participants.
First preference for solo participants.
Group registrations of more than 3 persons will most likely get rejected.
Please note that there could be small changes in the itinerary due to local restrictions, and suitable alternative plans will made in such cases.
All activities are subject to weather conditions and local govt. rules.
We will assist you to get your currency exchanged before your travel.

Flights:

Land in Bandaranaike Airport (CMB) on 13-Jun before 4AM.
Depart from Bandaranaike Airport (CMB) on 18-Jun after 11:45PM.
We will guide you with flight bookings to ensure the group travels together. At the time of confirmation, we’ll inform you about the specific flights that need to be booked. We can also assist if you require any additional help with flight bookings.

Payment details:

For slot confirmation - ₹15,000 (strictly non-refundable)
Balance: During the trip

Advance payments can also be made through credit cards.

Cancellation policy:

No refund of the advance payment will be provided. The advance cannot be transferred to any other trip.

2. Invitation and Selection Process: Once registered, shortlisted participants will receive an official invitation to join the trip along with details for making the advance payment. Please note that the selection process is solely at the discretion of the Coimbatore Adventure Club. If all slots are filled, we will notify you and place you on a waitlist.

3. Advance Payment: Shortlisted participants will receive advance payment instructions. Your slot for the trip will be confirmed only upon successful payment of the advance.

4. Flight Tickets: After your advance payment is processed and confirmed by us, you may proceed to book your flight tickets.
