We have curated this itinerary to unlock all the adventures that Malaysia has to offer. From wandering through the world’s oldest tropical rainforest, discovering new theme parks, strolling through vibrant cities filled with towering skyscrapers and cruising through sparkling blue seas, it has it all!

🇲🇾 TRIP HIGHLIGHTS

LANGKAWI - THE ISLAND OF LEGENDS

Langkawi island - The island they call it "The island of legends" is where we will land. We will spend 2 nights at the island as it has a lot to offer. We will explore the island on a scooter and cruise around Langkawi’s peaceful beaches. We will stop at Oriental village for some shopping, explore the Langkawi sky bridge and cable car and end the night at Pentai Cenang beach - The most lively beach in Langkawi . On the second day, we will jump on a boat and explore the beautiful islands around Langkawi, each with its own charm. We will also dive into the lively night markets, enjoy tasty street food, and hunt for some cool, unique finds.

TAMAN NEGARA - World's Oldest Tropical Rainforest

The day where we get into the wild and a forest where you can only find the locals. Taman Negara is one of the world’s oldest tropical rainforest. We will travel there by bus and a scenic 3-hour boat ride. We will experience the jungle at night with a thrilling nocturnal walk, then challenge ourselves on the World’s longest canopy walk. We will trek through the lush forest and enjoy an adrenaline rush with rapid shooting (on a longtail boat) in the high current waves. It’s a nature lover’s dream come true! We will spend 2 nights inside the forest.

GENTING HIGHLAND - A Breathtaking Theme Park Now in the Clouds

One can never miss this hill station during their trip to Malaysia. Genting Highlands is the perfect place to escape to cool mountain vibes and non-stop excitement! Usually the tourists take a day trip to Genting highlands but we are going to stay a night to experience the Genting night life! We will take the Awana skyway (Cable car) for a scenic view of the Genting highlands. The brand-new SkyWorlds Theme Park just opened, and we are definitely not going to miss it! We will spend a full day at the theme park exploring every nook and corner of it. We will take the Awana skyway (Cable car) for a scenic view of the Genting highlands.

GOPENG - A Playground for Adventure Junkies

Gopeng is the ultimate playground for adventure lovers! From waterfall rappelling to thrilling river rafting and caving, it’s packed with heart-pounding activities that will leave us craving more! We will take a train from Kuala Lumpur to Ipoh and a short van journey to Gopeng. The whole day is only for the adventures being offered at Gopeng. To top it off, we will be staying in a rustic campsite to feel the real adventure.

KUALA LUMPUR - The City of Sky Scrappers and Food

We will be travelling from Langkawi to the Capital of Malaysia via a domestic flight. Kuala Lumpur is a foodie’s paradise, where every corner is filled with delicious flavors, from vibrant hawker stalls to exquisite fine dining. The city’s food scene will have you craving more with every bite. We will see the breathtaking Petronas Towers and other must-see spots, go on a self street food tour, making this trip a perfect blend of great food, exciting sights, and unforgettable experiences! We will fly back to India from Kuala Lumpur.

🇲🇾 PACKAGE COST

For the convenience of those who join us, we are providing two options to choose from (One package is with Taman Negara & Gopeng and another one without Taman Negara & Gopeng (4 nights 5 days)

Package A (4 nights 5 days): ₹ 38,000/-

Day 1: Arrive in Langkawi, rent a scooter to explore the Oriental Village, Langkawi Sky Bridge, and Langkawi Cable Car, enjoy a beach party at Pantai Cenang, and stay overnight in Langkawi.

Day 2: Spend the day island hopping by boat, savoring local delicacies during a food tour, and relax with an overnight stay in Langkawi.

Day 3: Fly to Kuala Lumpur, take a van to Genting Highlands, explore the casinos, souvenir shops, and other attractions, and stay overnight in Genting Highlands.

Day 4: Enjoy an entire day at the Genting Highlands Theme Park, travel back to Kuala Lumpur in the evening, and stay overnight in Kuala Lumpur

Day 5: Depart from Kuala Lumpur and fly back to India

Package B (9 nights 10 days): ₹ 69,000/-

Day 1 to 4 are same as mentioned in Package A

Day 5: Embark on a scenic journey to Taman Negara with a 3-hour bus ride and a 3-hour boat ride, arrive by 5 PM, and enjoy a night jungle walk before staying overnight.

Day 6: Experience a thrilling day in Taman Negara with jungle trekking, a canopy walk, lunch by the waterfalls, rapid shooting, and a visit to the Orang Asli village.

Day 7: Travel back to Kuala Lumpur by 4 PM, explore the city's vibrant nightlife, and stay overnight in Kuala Lumpur.

Day 8: Take a train to Gopeng for a day of exciting water activities and stay overnight in Gopeng.

Day 9: Return to Kuala Lumpur, embark on a self-guided food tour, visit iconic landmarks, and enjoy an overnight stay in the city.

Day 10: Depart from Kuala Lumpur and fly back to India, wrapping up your memorable trip.

EXCLUSIONS:

✖ Flight tickets (Approx ₹23,000 from Coimbatore roundtrip, approx ₹16000 from Cochin round trip, ₹20,000 from Chennai roundtrip)

✖ Travel insurance (Approx ₹700)

✖ All meals (Except 4 meals in Taman Negara). Meals would be approx. ₹1,200 per day. This is the cost of a normal meal and not for a meal at a fine dine restaurant. As we have time constraints almost every day, we may not be having meals at fine dine restaurants.

✖ Optional activities in Gopeng. (White water rafting (₹3,500 approx.), Waterfall abseiling (₹1,800 approx.)

✖ Cost incidental to any change in the itinerary/stay on account of flight cancellation due to bad weather, ill health, roadblocks, landslides, floods and/or any factors beyond control. If flights get cancelled due to weather, we will arrange alternative stay at minimal cost.

🇲🇾 GENERAL INFO

🇲🇾 BASICS:

Total number of slots: 13
Age group: 18 to 38
A valid Indian Passport with at-least 6 months validity is required.
Gender ratio: To encourage female travelers, we will ensure that there is a min of 40% female participants.
First preference for solo participants and couples. However, there will be an additional sur-charge for couples requesting for a Double bedroom for themselves.
Group registrations of more than 3 persons will most likely get rejected.
All activities are subject to weather conditions and local govt. rules.
We will assist you in getting your currency exchanged before your travel.

🇲🇾 FLIGHTS:

Flights to & fro Malaysia to be booked by the participant, since that will be cheaper. We will be sharing all the info you will need for booking your flights. We can help you if you really need any flight booking assistance.
However, we will try to travel together from India. At the time of trip confirmation, we will let you know which flights needs to be booked, so that the entire team travels together.
Landing in Langkawi: You are expected to land in Langkawi International Airport (LGK) before 1pm on 14 March (Fri)
Departing from Kuala Lumpur: You can depart from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) at any time on 23 March (Sun)
Please book flights only after you make the advance payment for the trip, and after receiving an acknowledgement from CAC regarding your slot confirmation.

🇲🇾 WEATHER:

The weather in Malaysia will be around 34 degC during the day and 22 degC during the nights.
You can expect a little cool weather only in Genting Highland varying between 30 degC during the day and can drop upto 18 degC during the night.

🇲🇾 FOOD:

Throughout the trip, we will have easy access to Malaysian, Indian, Chinese, Thai and Arab foods.

🇲🇾 REGISTRATION AND SELECTION PROCESS:

1. Registration: If you are interested in joining this trip, please complete your registration by clicking the link provided at the end of this itinerary.

2. Invitation and Selection Process: Once registered, shortlisted participants will receive an official invitation to join the trip along with details for making the advance payment. Please note that the selection process is solely at the discretion of the Coimbatore Adventure Club. If all slots are filled, we will notify you and place you on a waitlist.

3. Advance Payment: Shortlisted participants will receive advance payment instructions. Your slot for the trip will be confirmed only upon successful payment of the advance.

4. Flight Tickets: After your advance payment is processed and confirmed by us, you may proceed to book your flight tickets.

🇲🇾 FAQ

Is Visa necessary?

➭ Currently Indians can visit Malaysia visa free. You can directly proceed to immigration counters after landing in Malaysian Airports, and get the immigration entry stamp.

Will Coimbatore Adventure Club help in booking the flights?

➭ Yes, we will surely help if you request us. But we always prefer our participants to book the flight on their own, because when we book, it is a little expensive by about 10% than what you see in online booking websites. But we will give you full guidance of which flights need to be booked.

How does the EMI option work?

➭ The EMI option is provided by a renowned banking partner. You can opt for 3 months or higher repayment option, and they will auto-debit your bank account every month. If you are interested to opt for an EMI, we will raise the request with the banking partner. They will get in touch with you. Though sometimes based on your CIBL score, you might be given interest free EMI, there will be a processing fee of approx 3-5% that will be charged by the EMI service provider.

What kind of hotels are we going to stay in?

➭ We will mostly stay in apartments & villas. On some nights we will be staying in a Hotel or a rustic campsite.

Can couples join?

➭ We do reserve a slot in all our trips for atleast one couple. However, providing a separate room for the couple is not always a feasibility, and if feasible it comes with an additional cost. Please do let us know during the registration itself, if you require a separate room, and we will work out the cost.

How about the food? How vegetarian friendly is it?

➭ Although Malaysia is a Muslim country and cuisines mostly consists of non-veg, there are a lot of veg options too! With a few small changes and substitutions, meat-based ingredients can be replaced with plant-based ones while still providing a similar flavorful experience! Since we will be staying mostly in apartments, we will be eating in nearby eateries or cook a meal (Depends on the participants).

How about Network connectivity?

➭ Airports have free Wi-Fi. Some apartments we will be staying provide free Wi-Fi. There won't be any connectivity when you are travelling between islands and in Taman Negara. If you need a local sim card, you can buy them in the airport or in local shops. Prices for the sim cards will be informed to you, few days before the trip.

What do I wear for this trip?

➭ While there aren't strict clothing laws, it's considered respectful to dress modestly, covering shoulders and knees, and avoiding overly revealing clothing like short skirts, tank tops, or tight-fitting clothes, as Malaysia is a Muslim-majority country where conservative attire is culturally appropriate. However there are not much restrictions in tourist places like Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi and Genting Highlands.

What optional activities are available in Gopeng? And how much will it cost?

➭ Optional activities available in Gopeng are white water rafting, Caving, Waterfall abseiling, tubing, ATV rides and many more. We suggest the group to try White water rafting and Caving as it a must do at Gopeng. White water rafting costs ₹3,500 approx. per head, Waterfall abseiling costs ₹1,800 approx. per head and Caving costs ₹2000 aprox per head.
