Trip to India's Winter Wonderland - Kashmir, the land of unimaginable beauty.

Get ready for a real-life fairy-tale setting. Kashmir is rightly called the Heaven on Earth. It turns more heavenly during the winters when it gets covered under a thick blanket of snow. And we are going there right in time.

As we step into this world that looks nothing less than an ice age, there are many adventurous things waiting around. So, take our word, leap into the beautiful world of Kashmir and live a lifetime experience.

Kashmir is as close as reality gets to those who dream of a winter wonderland. The views of snow-covered meadows, mesmerizing peaks, thrilling adventure sports, and astonishing frozen lakes make one fall in love with everything.

We will be covering the following places in Kashmir

🛬 Day-1, Sat | 21-Dec-2024

Reach Srinagar

We will fly to Srinagar from Chennai/Coimbatore/Bangalore. We will combine you with others who are traveling from these airports.
Arrive at Srinagar Airport, your gateway to the winter wonderland, by 4:30pm, and make your way to the homestay to freshen up.
We will be exploring Srinagar town and will try some of the Kashmir food delicacies. We will spend some time shopping too. You can also buy some winter wear in case you forgot to carry them.

🚍 Day-2, Sun | 22-Dec-2024

A Journey towards the gateway of Ladakh - Sonmarg

Perched at an altitude of 8,960 feet, Sonmarg offers no fancy restaurants, no bustling markets—just pure, untouched beauty.
Every road here is scenic, and every turn will leave you spellbound.
Thajiwas glacier is a must-visit for all the nature lovers.

⛄ Day-3, Mon | 23-Dec-2024

Snow Snow Snow !!!

If you ever wanted to experience snow, Sonmarg has it. The town will be partially submerged in the snow at this time.
You can try a lot of snow activities on this day.
Try some ATV rides on snow, snow bikes, skiing, snowboarding, etc.

🚍 Day-4, Tue | 24-Dec-2024

Travel to Gulmarg - A piece of Heaven on Earth

Gulmarg is the world's famous ski destination. This place is more beautiful than you can ever imagine.
Asia's highest and world's 2nd highest cable car ride is also here, called the Gondola.
We have booked a cozy hotel in Gulmarg, which is centrally heated so that you stay comfortable when the weather outside goes down to minus 10degC. It's going to be a different experience altogether.

🚍 Day-5, Wed | 25-Dec-2024

Stay in a Houseboat in the Nigeen lake

After breakfast, we will proceed to Srinagar.
This evening is going to be something special, as we will stay in a Houseboat on Nigeen lake.
Take a Shikara ride in the Nigeen lake to reach the houseboat.
A night in the houseboat is going to be a different experience altogether.

🛫 Day-6, Thu | 26-Dec-2024

Bid Farewell

Time to leave the wonderland. We assure that you will miss Kashmir, and these 6 days is going to be very close to your heart for ages.
After the breakfast, we will proceed to Airport.

💠 Any extra adventure rides like horse rides and gondola rides in Gulmarg (cable car)

💠 Cost incidental to any change in the itinerary/stay on account of flight cancellation due to bad weather, ill health, roadblocks, landslides, floods, and/or any factors beyond control. If flights get canceled due to weather, we will arrange an alternative stay at a minimal cost.

❄️ General Info

Basics:

Total number of slots: 16
Age group: 5 to 45
Gender ratio: To encourage female travelers, we will ensure that there is a min of 40% female participants.
There are no treks on this trip. Only short walks.
Please note that you are traveling during the peak tourist season in Kashmir. Expect a lot of traffic, long queues, crowded restaurants, etc. But the beauty of Kashmir will make up for these.

Flights:

Land in Srinagar airport any time before 4:30 pm on Day 1 (21-Dec-2024)
Fly out from Srinagar airport any time after 08:00 am on Day 6 (26-Dec-2024)

Mobile Connectivity:

Prepaid sim cards don’t work in Kashmir. Our trip leader will have a postpaid number from which you can keep in touch with your loved ones.
There will be network on all days of the trip.

Stay:

We have curated the trip to make it very comfortable for our participants. The max temperature during the day hardly touches 2degC and the nights could go down to -10degC, but you will feel comfortable since all our accommodations have heaters, so you will feel warm.
You get to enjoy the extreme snow winter in the best way possible. But please note that there at times, there could be electricity failure, and this is beyond our scope.
Some of the hotels are centrally heated and some may have bed warmers and electric blankets.

Dressing up:

Do not wear hot pants or crop tops in Kashmir. Respect the culture and be appropriately dressed. Wear something that covers your knees and elbows too.
If you don't have snow boots, don't worry, we can rent it. Snow boots, coat and cap will cost Rs.600 per day.
List of things to carry will be provided when you confirm for the trip.

How Safe is Kashmir for Travelers:

Kashmir is the most safest place for tourists and it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India for both Indians and foreigners. Kashmiris are warm, hospitable people, they will go out of their way to make sure visitors are safe.
Kashmiris are the warmest hosts that you can ever come across. You will find the taxi drivers, houseboat hosts, hotel staff to be very friendly than any other place you have traveled to across India.

How much money should you carry:

You will probably need to carry approx. Rs.8000-10,000 for all lunches, gondola rides, snow activities etc.

Payment:

Advance payment of ₹15,000 is required to confirm your participation (Non-refundable).
Payment details will be shared if you are shortlisted for the trip.
Balance payment needs to be paid 10 days before the trip.

Cancellation Policy:

As this trip falls during Kashmir's peak season, cancellation or refunds won't be allowed after trip confirmation due to non-refundable hotel bookings.

Selection Process:

Selection for the trip will be at the complete discretion of Coimbatore Adventure Club. Please send us to advance only if you get a confirmation from us.

Coimbatore Adventure Club reserves the right to remove any participant from the trip at any time if they engage in any illicit or inappropriate behavior. This policy is in place to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all travelers. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
