Welcome to a land that feels like another planet— its none other than Dzukou Valley! 🌿

Our journey begins in the wild heart of Nagaland, where we’ll trek through the magical Dzukou Valley, an immersive journey through lush meadows and vibrant wildflowers. We’ll be staying deep in the valley, just you, the meadows, and the sky, absolute middle of nowhere, far from any civilization. Literally it will feel like a different world.

From there, we move to Khonoma - Asia’s first green village. This place is calm, proud of its roots, and full of stories. You’ll feel like time has slowed down, and maybe even wish it would stop.

We wrap it up in Kohima, the capital of Nagaland. It’s a lively town where tradition and modern life collide. Its the place where Nagaland’s biggest celebration - The Hornbill Festival happens. Kohima offers local markets, war history, and a glimpse into the rich Naga culture.

If you are looking for a fast-paced trip, you may have to reconsider. But trust us when we say this! This is an escape to a different planet.

🧗ITINERARY:

🚙Day 1: (Wed, 23-Jul-25)

Arrive in Dimapur & travel to Kohima.

Touch down in Dimapur before 1 PM and begin your journey to Kohima, the capital city of Nagaland.
The drive takes around 3.5 hours, travelling through forested hills and quiet countryside.
As you approach Kohima in the late afternoon, the vibe changes. You’re greeted by a city that blends traditional Naga culture with a modern buzz.
Once you settle in, take a walk through local markets or unwind in a nearby café with views of the misty hills. It’s a gentle start to an adventure-filled week ahead.

🚙Day 2: (Thu, 24-Jul-25)

Trek to Dzukou Valley

After breakfast, get ready for the much-anticipated trek to Dzukou Valley.
We will walk through serene trails lined with bamboo groves and dense forests. The first 2 kilometers will be a steep trek, which will leave you exhausted. Once we reach the meadow, we'll relax with a packed lunch at a peaceful spot among the green slopes.
By late afternoon, we will reach the campsite and pitch our tents amidst the valley.
The evening is slow and calming. We can take a relaxed walk through the valley, and if you’re feeling adventurous, try your hand at preparing a self-cooked dinner under the stars. The silence here is truly unforgettable.

🚙Day 3: (Fri, 25-Jul-25)

Asia's first green village - Khonoma

After a peaceful night in Dzukou Valley, you'll begin your descent to Viswema Village, which serves as another entry point to Dzukou Valley.
We'll pause for lunch on our way back to Khonoma.
By late afternoon, we will arrive in Khonoma, Asia’s first green village. Nestled 20 km from Kohima, this village is renowned for its sustainable practices and rich history of resistance during the British colonial period . The village is known for its terraced fields and traditional Angami homes.
As evening sets in, we'll realize how quiet and peaceful the village is. It's the perfect spot to rest after our trek.

🚙Day 4: (Sat, 26-Jul-25)

The Capital of Nagaland - Kohima

Wake up to the gentle sounds of nature and the fresh air. After breakfast, We will go on a day tour in Khonoma. We will explore the ancient terraced fields and learn about the village's eco-friendly practices. We will stop at a small waterfall.
By midday, we will reach Kohima, arriving in time for lunch.
In the evening, we will visit the Naga Heritage Village in Kisama, the venue for the renowned Hornbill Festival held annually in December. Though the festival isn't in season during our visit, the site offers insights into Naga architecture and traditions.

🚙Day 5: (Sun, 27-Jul-25)

Travel to Dimapur & bid farewell to Nagaland

After breakfast, bid adieu to the hills and head towards Dimapur.
Ensure your flight from Dimapur is scheduled post-12 PM to accommodate the journey.

Exclusions:

Meals which are not mentioned in the itinerary are excluded.
Flights (Approx Rs.14,000 from Bangalore)
Cost incidental to any change in the itinerary/stay on account of flight cancellation due to bad weather, ill health, roadblocks, landslides, floods and/or any factors beyond control. If flights get cancelled due to weather, we will arrange alternative stay at minimal cost.

Payment Terms:

Confirm your spot with an initial payment of Rs.10,000 per head and it is strictly non-refundable and non-transferable.
Balance payment to be settled during the trip.
Advance payment can be made through credit cards. Balance payment has to be paid only in Cash.

Basics:

Total number of slots: 15
Age group: 18 to 38
Gender ratio: To encourage female travelers, we will ensure that there is a min of 40% female participants.
First preference for solo participants and couples.
Group registrations of more than 2 persons will most likely get rejected.
Please note that there could be small changes in the itinerary due to local restrictions, and suitable alternative plans will made in such cases.
All activities are subject to weather and local rules.

Flights:

We will try to travel together from Chennai. At the time of confirmation, we will let you know which flights needs to be booked, so that the entire team travels together. We can help you if you really need any flight booking assistance.
Onward flight: Land in Dimapur airport (DMU) any time before 12pm on 23-Jul'25
Return flight: Fly from Dimapur airport (DMU) anytime on 27-Jul'25
Please book flights only after you make the advance payment for the trip, and after receiving an acknowledgement from CAC about your slot confirmation.
We will provide you with the flight instructions upon confirmation.

Others:

Detailed information on Things to carry, do's and don'ts will be provided post confirmation for the trip.

Accommodations:

We will be staying in Dormitories, tents and homestays.

Cancellation Policy:

Advance payments are strictly non-refundable under any circumstances and cannot be transferred to any other trip.

2. Invitation and Selection Process: Once registered, shortlisted participants will receive an official invitation to join the trip along with details for making the advance payment.

Please note that the selection process is solely at the discretion of the Coimbatore Adventure Club. If all slots are filled, we will notify you and place you on a waitlist.

3. Advance Payment: Shortlisted participants will receive advance payment instructions. Your slot for the trip will be confirmed only upon successful payment of the advance.

4. Flight Tickets: After your advance payment is processed and confirmed by us, you may proceed to book your flight tickets.

Cancellation Policy:

1) Cancellation by participant:

Advance paid during trip confirmation is strictly non-refundable at any circumstances, as we group book the trains/vans, and accommodation. Also note that the advance payment will strictly be not transferrable to someone else or to a future trip, incase you are not joining the trip. Incase a participant cancels at the last moment (within 48 hours of trip starting time), they will be requested to settle the balance trip cost.

2) Cancellation due to unforeseen situations beyond our control:

In the event of trip cancellations due to natural calamities or unforeseen circumstances (e.g., extreme weather, political unrest, or government-imposed restrictions)—essentially, any situation beyond CAC’s control, Rs.2000 will be non-refundable. However, the remaining amount can be fully transferred to rescheduled dates or applied to any other trip of your choice.
