Fly to Bagdogra Airport
On this first day, we will take a flight from Coimbatore (or Chennai or Bangalore) to Bagdogra Airport
Bagdogra is located in India (its 4 hours away from Bhutan border)
We will be sharing you flight plans, so that entire team will arrive at Bagdogra by 2:30pm.
Once everyone reaches, we will board a van and travel to Phuentsholing, the border town of Bhutan

Day at Thimphu - tradition meets modern vibes
After breakfast and after completing entry formalities at the border, we will start towards Thimphu (which is the captial of Bhutan)
On the way get ready to snap Insta-worthy shots of ancient monuments and majestic dzongs.
Since Breakfast and Dinners will be served in hotels, we will be having lunches in authentic Bhutansese restaurants

The Heart of Bhutan - Exploring Thimphu
A day dedicated to Bhutan’s cultural gems! We start with a visit to Buddha Dordenma, a colossal statue offering panoramic views of the valley. Next, we pay our respects at the Memorial Chorten, a spiritual landmark where locals gather for daily rituals.
A highlight of the day is the Simply Bhutan Museum, an interactive experience showcasing Bhutanese heritage. Here, you can try on traditional Bhutanese attire, learn about age-old crafts, and step into a world untouched by time.
The evening is yours to explore Thimphu’s charming streets, local handicraft markets, and cozy cafés.

Journey to Punakha - The Valley of Happiness
Today, we leave Thimphu behind and drive towards Punakha, a valley blessed with breathtaking landscapes and rich history. En route, we stop at Dochula Pass (3,100m)—a picturesque mountain pass adorned with 108 stupas, offering panoramic views of the Himalayan peaks.
Upon arrival in Punakha, we explore the stunning Punakha Dzong, an architectural marvel at the confluence of the Pho and Mo Chu rivers. We also visit Chimi Lhakhang, the Temple of Fertility, known for its fascinating legends and spiritual significance.

A Scenic Retreat - Punakha to Paro
Today, we embark on a picturesque drive from Punakha to Paro, soaking in Bhutan’s natural splendor. The journey is a visual delight, with terraced fields, cascading rivers, and quaint villages painting the perfect postcard picture.
Upon reaching Paro, we settle in and rejuvenate for tomorrow’s adventure.

Hike day at Paro
Rise and shine! Let’s start our day with a thrilling adventure to Paro Taktsang, famously known as the Tiger’s Nest Monastery. This legendary cliffside marvel, perched at 3,120m, offers breathtaking views and a spiritual experience like no other.
The moderate-to-strenuous hike takes around 2-3 hours to reach, navigating steep inclines and rocky paths. But trust us—the sense of achievement and the panoramic views from the top make every step worth it!
After descending, we return to our hotel for a well-earned rest.
For Non-Trekkers: Enjoy a leisurely day exploring Paro and indulging in shopping!

Exploring Paro & Back to Phuentsholing
A relaxed morning to explore Paro’s historic gems! We visit the Rinpung Dzong, a fortress-monastery that tells tales of Bhutan’s rich past, and take a peaceful stroll along the Paro River.
By afternoon, we begin our return journey to Phuentsholing, retracing our steps through the breathtaking landscapes of Bhutan one last time.

Return flight: Take flights from Bagdogra Airport (Airport Code: IXB) to Coimbatore/Chennai after 1pm on 17-May.

Will Coimbatore Adventure Club help in booking the flights?
Yes, we will surely help if you request us. But we always prefer our participants to book the flight on their own, because when we book, it is a little expensive by about 10% than what you see in online booking websites. But we will give you full guidance of which flights need to be booked.
What kind of accommodations are we going to stay in?
All accommodations in handpicked properties. Some stays are rustic and some are modern hotels and homestays.
Is Bhutan safe for children and elderly travelers?
Yes, Bhutan is known for its hospitality and safety. The country has well-maintained roads, clean air, and a peaceful environment, making it suitable for travelers of all ages.
Can couples join?
Yes, do join in.
How about Network connectivity?
Airport has free Wi-Fi. Some hotels we will be staying provide free Wi-Fi but the connection might be slow depending on the number of users then. There won't be any connectivity when you are travelling. If you need a local sim card, you can buy them in the airport or in local shops. Prices for the sim cards will be informed to you, few days before the trip.
