Reiki Service 

I have been a registered nurse for more than 24 years, and have enjoyed being a nursing educator and nurse in critical care backgrounds.  I have learned to appreciate the fact that our Western healthcare processes can benefit from a more holistic approach when combined with selective Eastern Health practices.  

Reiki is a Japanese-based health alternative practice.  I am trained in the Usui Reiki teachings created by Dr. Mikao Usui in the early 20th Century.  It is a complementary alternative method approach to assist clients with healing and improving their symptoms.  

I embrace the belief using Reiki therapy can assist a client with stimulating their natural ability to heal or decrease symptoms through relaxation and the focus on their energy.  As an example, this study supports the benefit of reiki therapy with anxiety and pain reduction with cancer treatments  (https://tinyurl.com/2015-study).  Another study supports the assistance with using reiki with depression (https://tinyurl.com/Depression-Study ).   We see more studies being used and supporting Reiki therapy providing clients positive benefits along side their current therapy treatments.  I, personally, saw how Reiki benefited my mother, Joyce, during her hospice care to help with pain and depression.  That's why I began practicing Reiki to assist clients.
