Calendar Ananta ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application, Calendar (the "App"), handles, processes, and protects your information, as well as the device permissions we utilize to provide our calendar, scheduling, and reminder services.
By installing and using Calendar, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Access and Permissions We Use
To provide core calendar, scheduling, reminder, and localization features, Calendar requests specific runtime and device permissions. Below is a detailed breakdown of what data is accessed and why:
A. Calendar Data (READ_CALENDAR, WRITE_CALENDAR)
What we access: Event titles, dates, start/end times, descriptions, recurrence rules, and attendee/calendar account details stored on your device.
Why we need it:
To display your existing events across different calendar views (Day, Week, Month, Year, and Agenda).
To allow you to create, edit, color-code, and delete calendar events.
To synchronize your schedule with your device’s system calendar and connected Google accounts.
Data Handling: Calendar data is read and written directly on your device storage or synced with your existing system calendar accounts. We do not transmit your calendar events to private external servers or sell this data to third parties.
B. Location Data (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION)
What we access: Precise and approximate location coordinates only when initiated by you.
Why we need it: To allow you to easily pick, search, and attach physical addresses or meeting venues to specific calendar events.
Data Handling: Location access is used on-demand (foreground only) during event creation/editing. We do not track your location in the background or store your continuous location history.
C. Notifications and Alarms (POST_NOTIFICATIONS, SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM, USE_EXACT_ALARM, RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED)
What we access: Device alarm manager, notification system, and boot status.
Why we need it:
POST_NOTIFICATIONS: To deliver user-configured alerts and reminder banners before scheduled events and appointments.
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM & USE_EXACT_ALARM: Required for the core functionality of delivering time-sensitive reminders at the exact minute specified by the user.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Automatically restores and reschedules your active event alarms and notifications after your device restarts or powers back on.
Data Handling: Used solely for local timing and alert dispatching on your device.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the data accessed through the permissions strictly to deliver and maintain the features of the App, including:
Displaying your daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly schedules.
Managing and organizing calendar events, color tags, and public holiday integrations.
Providing exact-time reminders and notification alerts for your tasks and appointments.
Supporting custom time zones and regional settings (12h/24h formats, week start days).
3. Data Storage, Sharing, and Disclosure
No Data Selling: We do not sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal or calendar data.
Local Processing: Your calendar data remains on your device or within your chosen cloud-connected accounts (such as Google Calendar) managed by Android’s operating system.
Third-Party Services:
The App uses trusted third-party SDKs that may collect anonymous device-level data (such as your IP address, device model, Android OS version, and Advertising ID) to provide ads and app stability services:
4. User Control and Permission Management
You have full control over your device permissions:
Revoking Permissions: You can grant or revoke any permission (Calendar, Location, Notifications) at any time via your device settings (Settings > Apps > [App Name] > Permissions).
Impact of Revocation: Please note that disabling certain permissions (such as Calendar access or Alarms) will disable the App's core ability to display events or send timely reminders.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
We do not retain copies of your calendar data on independent remote servers.
All calendar entries created within the App are stored within the Android System Calendar database. Deleting an event in the App deletes it from your device’s calendar storage.
Uninstalling the App removes all local preferences, custom theme selections, and cached data from your device.
6. Children’s Privacy
[App Name] is a general-audience productivity tool. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). If you believe that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect updates in our features, device permissions, or legal obligations. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
