This album explores the ambivalence of the meanings of the adjective "raw" in all its dimensions.
Rawness refers to origins, brutality, and what is rudimentary. Thus, this project delves into the imbalance that ignites beauty, the raw origins of the human condition, and the unrefined or raw finish of entirely acoustic music.

This album is about accommodated brutality contrasted with the severity of the clarity of pure and focused sounds. It is about sexuality as an element in creating raw, living intensity. It celebrates life and a society that illuminates the path to its own perpetual destruction. The transfiguration of flesh into the transcendent.

Dodecaphonic techniques engage in dialogue with our European, Arab, and Mediterranean musical origins; the raw timbre of a conch shell contrasts with the complex sound of a trumpet; water dripping from the instruments becomes a musical element when it meets a heated plate; animalistic sounds mirror the brutality of daily life; and the recited word adds texture and universal significance to the compositions.

These are compositions stripped of pomp and circumstance, crafted for all audiences.
