C.O.R.E. is a collaborative project with one main objective in mind: to collect oyster shells from local restaurants and use them to build and restrengthen Long Island oyster reefs.
The C.O.R.E. team has many enthusiastic participants: Professors Aaren Freeman and Ruth Coffey of Adelphi University, the Town of Hempstead, local Long Island restaurants, the Adelphi Environmental Action Coalition, and Long Beach High School.
