Content Piracy or Piracy in general is the illegal copying or distributing of online data, content, video, work or any form of information to other users on the internet. Content Piracy is mostly done in order to generate money or revenue by selling the copied content to buyers.  

This is a massive problem since instead of going to the original author's pockets the money is instead going to the Content Pirate, causing loss in profits and revenue. this might not be impactful to companies with large and organizations with large followings but to small content creators like youtubers it is very impactful. 

On consumers pirated content does not usually matter as long as it is the same content but in some cases where the pirated content has different patent or watermarks making it indiscernible.

Pirated Digital Content May also contain Trojans and Viruses making unsafe and dangerous to download.
