🛑 “My shift didn’t save after I clocked out.”

Fix: Make sure the app wasn’t closed or force-quit before completing your shift. Since all data is saved locally, exiting the app mid-shift may prevent proper saving. Always clock out before closing the app.

📄 “My timesheet didn’t generate.”

Fix: Timesheets only generate after a complete shift (Clock-In → optional Breaks → Clock-Out). If you miss any step, the shift won’t finalize, and the timesheet won’t appear.

🧠 “My active shift disappeared after I switched screens.”

Fix: ByteOfMyTime is designed to keep your shift active while switching views. If the shift seems lost, try restarting the app. If it still doesn’t appear, it may not have been saved properly before switching views.

🔄 “Buttons aren’t updating (e.g., still shows Clock-In instead of Clock-Out).”

Fix: This may happen if an animation or state change was interrupted. Try tapping again or restarting the app. The buttons are designed with transition effects, so delays may occur if the state doesn’t fully register.

✏️ “I can’t edit or delete my shift.”

Fix: You can only edit or delete finished shifts. Clock out first to move it to your Shift History, where editing becomes available. Active shifts are locked until completed.

⏱ “Breaks are showing up in my shift total—shouldn’t they be subtracted?”

Fix: Breaks in ByteOfMyTime are always shown as part of the total shift duration. They’re logged separately, but never subtracted from the overall time. This keeps the shift record consistent with real-world time.

📦 “Old shift data is missing.”

Fix: ByteOfMyTime uses 100% local storage. If you deleted the app or reset your device, the data is not recoverable. There’s no cloud backup, so regular exporting or manual copying is recommended if needed.
