What is topsoil used for?

Topsoil is the uppermost horizon of soil that is beneficial for the growth of plants. A proper soil remediation plan is required for the purifying and revitalizing of the soil. Topsoil is a mixture of sand, silt, clay, and organic matters. Let’s know about the uses of the topsoil –

• It can be used for creating a plant bed in your small kitchen garden at your home. Spread a 2-inch-thick layer of soil in the selected area and mix it with the existing soil.

• There are some low areas in the lawn, topsoil can be used to fill the low area and repair the lawn damage. You can also add a completely new patch of grass with quality topsoil and daily watering.

• Topsoil can be used in an area of the garden that holds water to improve the drainage of that location. Pour topsoil over existing soil and mix them to a depth of 12inches.
