The BYO Development Foundation, in partnership with Guardian Life Insurance, proudly implemented a nationwide dress distribution program aimed at supporting vulnerable children across Bangladesh. This initiative was designed to address a basic yet critical need—access to proper clothing—among children living in poverty, orphaned conditions, and other disadvantaged circumstances.
Through this program, more than 1,500 children were reached across 19 districts, reflecting a strong commitment to inclusive humanitarian support. The initiative covered key regions including Gaibandha, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Rangpur, Bogura, Rajshahi, Sirajganj, Tangail, Dhaka, Gazipur, Mymensingh (including Gouripur), Chittagong, Bhola, Barisal, and Chuadanga. These areas were carefully selected based on need, with particular focus on rural, climate-affected, and underserved communities.
The program was implemented through a coordinated, community-based approach. Local volunteers and field teams played a central role in identifying beneficiaries, ensuring that children from the most vulnerable households were prioritized. Special attention was given to orphan children, underprivileged families, street-connected children, and those requiring additional care. Each child received new clothing items, distributed in a manner that upheld dignity, respect, and inclusivity.
The impact of the program extended beyond material support. For many children, receiving new clothes brought a sense of joy, confidence, and belonging. It also helped ease the financial burden on families who struggle to meet even the most basic needs. The distribution events fostered a spirit of community solidarity and strengthened trust between local communities and the organization.
This initiative was made possible through the generous support and collaboration of Guardian Life Insurance. Their commitment to social responsibility enabled the program to expand its reach and deliver meaningful assistance to children across multiple regions. The partnership reflects a shared vision of creating positive, lasting change in society through collective action.
The successful implementation of this program highlights the growing capacity of the BYO Development Foundation to carry out large-scale humanitarian initiatives across Bangladesh. With a dedicated volunteer network and strong partnerships, the organization continues to work towards improving the lives of vulnerable communities.
As we move forward, BYO Development Foundation remains committed to expanding its efforts and reaching even more children in need. This program stands as a testament to what can be achieved when compassion, collaboration, and action come together for a common purpose.
Today, BYO Development Foundation, with the generous support of IPDC Finance, successfully distributed winter blankets to underprivileged families living in the char areas of Batikamari (Karaibari), Kamarjani, Gaibandha.

Today, BYO Development Foundation distributed a winter jacket to Rumona, a young girl from Naldanga, Gaibandha.
Rumona has lost the support of both her parents and is currently living with her grandfather and grandmother. Considering her difficult situation, our team identified her for immediate winter assistance.
The jacket was kindly sponsored by the owner of Brahmandanga Cloth Shop, who generously contributed this support so that one vulnerable child could stay warm and protected during the cold season.
Our volunteers personally visited the area, met Rumona and her family, and handed over the jacket with care and respect.
This small act of support reflects our commitment to standing beside orphaned and vulnerable children and ensuring that no child is left behind during hardship.
We sincerely thank the sponsor for this compassionate gesture and encourage others in our community to come forward and support children like Rumona.
Together, we can bring warmth, dignity, and hope to every child.
On the first day of Pitha Utshob 2025, we prepared and distributed nearly 700 pieces of traditional pitha, representing 20+ varieties, for community members in Gaibandha.

Today, 14 December, we observe Martyred Intellectuals Day with deep respect and solemn remembrance of the great intellectuals who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
On this day in 1971, just days before the victory of Bangladesh, many of the country’s leading professors, doctors, engineers, writers, journalists, and professionals were brutally abducted and killed in a planned attempt to destroy the intellectual backbone of the newly emerging nation. Their loss was one of the greatest tragedies of our Liberation War.
Their courage, contribution, and sacrifice continue to guide us in building a peaceful, just, and humane Bangladesh.
We bow our heads in profound respect to the martyred intellectuals.
May their legacy live on forever.
Today we held a meeting with our new volunteers from various schools and institutes in Gaibandha.

By standing together, we honor the profound legacy of Begum Rokeya and advocate for gender equality, justice, and dignity for all women and girls.
The BYO Development Foundation stands in firm solidarity for a violence-free society.
Every day on her way home in Mohammadpur, Dhaka, our volunteer Sostita Das Puja notices a small group of roadside dogs waiting near the corner of the street. They do not bark, they do not beg they simply wait with hope in their eyes.
She brings a little food, kneels down, and feeds them with warmth and care. Over time, these stray animals began to recognize her footsteps. For them, she is not just a passerby she is their friend.
Her simple routine has become a beautiful act of compassion that inspires us all. You don’t need to be a hero to make a difference. Sometimes, a handful of food and a moment of kindness is enough to change a life.
If you ever see a roadside dog, cat, or any stray animal please try to help in your own small way.

Field Visit Report – Gaibandha Sadar Hospital
BYO Development Foundation
As part of our ongoing two-month initiative to assess and improve public service infrastructure in Gaibandha, the BYO Development Foundation conducted a comprehensive field visit to Gaibandha Sadar Hospital today. The purpose of this visit was to identify existing challenges within the hospital premises that are affecting both patients and service providers.
During the visit, our team observed several pressing issues, which were also echoed by patients, hospital visitors, and local residents. One of the most serious concerns is the accumulation of garbage and waste around the hospital, which is creating an unhygienic and unpleasant environment. Furthermore, the open area opposite the Civil Surgeon’s office is being used for public defecation, causing severe environmental pollution and contributing to a persistent foul odor in the vicinity.
Inside the hospital, conditions are equally concerning. A strong, unpleasant smell is prevalent throughout the building, significantly affecting the well-being and comfort of patients. Many individuals who are undergoing treatment have expressed that the constant odor adds to their physical discomfort and emotional distress. Additionally, the hospital is currently facing a shortage of beds, which is forcing a significant number of patients to receive treatment while lying on the floor. This lack of basic medical accommodation raises serious concerns about the standard of healthcare services being provided.
These findings will be compiled into a formal report, which we intend to submit to the appropriate authorities with the aim of encouraging swift and effective remedial action. In the meantime, we are continuing to collect public feedback through our online forms to ensure that community voices are properly represented in our report.
We had a great meeting with our dedicated BYO members today to plan upcoming activities at Gaibandha Sadar Hospital and Pouro Park over the next two months.
Excited for what’s ahead as we continue working to uplift our community together.

On behalf of the BYO Development Foundation and the entire Gaibandha community, we extend our best wishes to Nasim Reza for his future endeavors. His leadership has set a high standard, and his absence will be deeply felt. However, we take pride in knowing that his dedication will continue to benefit others in his new role.
Thank you, Nasim Reza Sir, for your invaluable service. Your contributions will always be remembered.
Fruitful Discussion on the Organization's Future Activities, Volunteers' Roles, and Ongoing Projects
A productive discussion was held regarding the future activities of the organization, the roles of volunteers, and the ongoing projects. We are grateful for the participation and enthusiasm of our volunteers.
With everyone's support, we will continue to move forward and work towards bringing positive change to society. Together, we will make a lasting impact.
The number of starving stray dogs in Gaibandha town is gradually increasing. These innocent animals struggle to survive by scavenging leftovers from the streets. However, as the number of abandoned dogs and cats continues to grow, many of them remain hungry.
Recognizing this issue, we have taken the initiative to provide food such as biscuits and bread to these hungry animals. Hunger and suffering are not limited to humans—animals feel it too. While many may not notice their pain, we have identified this need and acted upon it. Alongside feeding, we are also raising awareness to ensure that no one harms these helpless creatures.
Let us all come together to support them. Your help in this initiative will make a significant difference.
Distribution of Dry Food and Water Bottles to Homeless and Mentally Ill Individuals at Rangpur Railway Station and Surrounding Areas
Hunger is a suffering that many may not truly understand, yet countless mentally ill and homeless individuals around us endure it every day. Many of them, abandoned by their families, are left to survive on the streets—exposed to the scorching sun and relentless rain, with no one to care for them.
As a student-led organization, we are often constrained by financial limitations, preventing us from undertaking larger initiatives despite our strong willingness to help. However, through this small effort, we have tried to bring a smile to the faces of those in need.
We urge you to stand with us in this humanitarian endeavor. Your support can help us expand our efforts and bring relief to even more vulnerable individuals. Join us in making a difference!
