Bangladesh Youth Mental Health Awareness Foundation(BYMHAF) claims itself as an organization that increased the awareness of mental health and to help people at the local level. Our current work to raise the emerging event / workshop to raise mental health awareness of local youth and support local activities (social / educational) and each other.
Mental health workshop: BYMHAF facilitates suitable mental wellness workshops in different communities and online languages. The workshops are focused on varied and specific issues that are marked as the need of basic intervention, for example: initial awareness about mental health, how to maintain good mental wellbeing, how to enter mental health services. Also our goal is to supply cultural and religious awareness training sessions for mental health professionals.
Support Group / Activity: BYMHAF supports support groups (in the case of boys and girls) and support. The goal of this support groups provided at the ground level and online cultural and religious suitable activities online. We are happy to support and develop existing service user-led networks and groups. Social Awareness: BYMHAF organizes a regular interval (monthly, bi-menstrual, quarterly) 'mental health awareness event'. Awareness events increase the awareness of mental health, deal with negativity and to expand local mental health services to the Bangladeshi young communities and reach the communities to note other energy. Events are provided in an interactive way which is cultural and religiously sensitive. These awareness events can learn more creative and interactive methods about mental health of communities, enables talking to mental health professionals and local service suppliers. They will get the opportunity to listen to personal stories from users and carers and to know their opinions about mental health services to service providers. More importantly, the programs that we should take seriously about our mental wellness and it is necessary to give priority to the welfare of our physical well-being.
