A quiet, yet bubbly elf-parrot hybrid, Taro lives in the city amongst humans while concealing her non-human and hybrid identity. With her pointed ears cleverly hidden with a bit of elven magic, she lives her life just about like any other city goer. While in university she studied Graphic Design and English, but became a freelance graphic designer and illustrator after graduating. As an introverted artist, she often spends a lot of time stuck behind her desktop, but enjoys going out with friends or exploring new places. Her favorite spot is a game center with crane machines and the cute plushies inside are hard to resist. Can you really blame her?
She has grown accustomed to questions about whether she likes taro or taro flavored drinks or foods. To that she always responds with a polite no. If anything, she much prefers purple potatoes or Japanese sweet potatoes. She wishes that she received this type of question less, but will still answer whenever asked. When she isn’t busy with client work, you can find her reading, playing video games, working on personal art projects or spending time outdoors or around the city.
In terms of her hybrid genetics, Taro has always been one as far as she can remember. She can transform into a yellow bibbed lory, a species of parrot, at will. When the city starts to feel too noisy and cramped, she opts to shift into her animal form and go flying. All secretly of course and with great care. She wouldn’t want anyone to find out what she is, but what do you think would happen if someone did?
Otherwise unassuming besides her dual colored eyes and blondish gray hair, Moon's origins are shrouded in mystery and gossip. In a small tight knit town where you knew everyone and everyone knew you, how could someone appear so suddenly without anybody's knowledge. Where had she come from? Who was she? Who was her family? What had brought her here? In truth, she only had her name: Moon. Just Moon.
In a unfathomable twist, a fragment of the moon fell to the earth and so Moon was birthed. Bathed in soft moonlight, the drop was enveloped in the still water of a lake as she was reincarnated and gifted a human form. Without anywhere to call home and no memories, she became a wanderer until the owner of a local bakery, Diana, kindly took her under her wing.
In her first life as a human, Moon finds a lot of joy in baking and works at Diana's bakery and cafe, Pacific Moon, as a way to show her gradtitude. Her life is simple and quaint, but something irks her about the indescribable feelings that stir deep inside of her when she looks at the night sky or the changes that her body goes through during lunar events. Just what exactly took place before she opened her eyes for the first time in Star Crest Lake? If only there was someone who could give her answers.
