Volunteer Opportunities

There are many wonderful volunteer opportunities available at the Youth Center! Volunteer application forms and a background check are required for all volunteers.

The Buckley Youth Acitivity Center offers free homework help on a first-come, first-served basis for anyone residing within the White River School District area. Homework Help is every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Our ability to provide this service is made possible only by the tutors who so generously volunteer their time.
During school breaks, we serve free lunches to all children and youth. Volunteers help make lunch, set-up, monitor and clean-up. It's a great opportunity for one-to-one conversations with kids too!
We love being creative and making things at the Center. We need help with coordinating craft projects and assisting at our weekly craft activities.
Extra hands and eyes are always needed at special events. If you have time in your schedule once in awhile, this is a great chance to help us out.
The Buckley Bicycle Co-Op is located at the Wickersham School site and is open Saturday mornings. We are always looking for bicycle technicians who love to work with kids.
Share a talent or skill with youth at a one-week summer camp program. The camp can fit into your schedule and be as short as two hours a day for a week.
Do you play guitar? We offer weekly guitar lessons and often need instructors.
If you love sports, you can drop in at the center and throw a football or play yard games with the youth. Flexible hours and lots of fun!

Does your company support volunteerism?

Many companies have volunteer programs that can pay employees while they volunteer. Others have programs that encourage employees to apply for small grants on behalf of a charity. WalMart's Volunteerism Always Pays, Microsoft, Verizon, Apple, Boeing, CenturyLink, evo, Starbucks and Alaska Airlines are just a few.
