POOL RULES
Instructors and Lifeguards have the authority and responsibility to enforce the pool regulations for the
welfare of all swimmers for their maximum use and pleasure.
Pool Staff may also restrict swimming or diving privileges of participants who, in the lifeguard’s judgement,
lack sufficient ability.
ALL LIFEGUARD BREAKS WILL BE ENFORCED. Lifeguards are responsible for moving lane lines, as well as other
tasks. Breaks are scheduled to allow for those tasks and ensure swimmer safety. ALL patrons please exit the pool promptly
when a break is called. Please remember that lifeguards are permitted to call a break at any time.
General Pool Regulations
1. Soap showers are required before using the pool.
2. Persons with communicable diseases or infections; conditions such as colds, open sores, or eye infections
shall not be permitted in the pool. No bandages or adhesive tape on the body.
3. Bathing suits are required. No cut offs, gym shorts, T-shirts, or leotards permitted.
4. Spitting or polluting the swimming pool water or related facilities is prohibited.
5. No smoking, drinking, glass, or breakable bottles in the pool, pool area, or locker rooms. Eating is
permitted on the SUN DECK only.
6. No inner tubes, air mattresses, or flotation devices (except during special events) are permitted. US Coast
Guard Approved lifejackets only! Children that require a lifejacket MUST be accompanied by a parent/
guardian in the water at all times. Children that require a lifejacket are NOT permitted in the deep end.
7. Diving permitted from boards and north end wall only. No diving from side walls or south walls. The diving
board may be closed at the guard’s discretion.
8. The Rec reserves the right to adjust the depth of the shallow end at any time. The shallow end shall be
adjusted to meet the needs of patrons and class participants as determined by rec employees.
9. No running on the pool deck
10. Children ten (10) years of age and under must be accompanied by an adult/guardian at all times.
11. Those under 16 are not permitted to use the workout equipment located on the pool deck. (Adults Only)
12. When a class or activity period changes please wait for the guard to signal before you enter the water.
13. Please exit the water when the lifeguard blows the whistle to clear the pool.
14. Please exit the water when the lifeguard is removing or putting in lane lines.
15. Lifeguards are responsible for enforcing any additional rules that in their judgement will help maintain a
safe pool for your use and pleasure, failure to adhere may result in a suspension.
Why All These Rules???
These rules were all created with you, the patron in mind. We prioritize safety at our facility and want to make sure all patrons are having a fun and enjoyable time while also keeping safety in mind.
So remember, if a lifeguard tells you to stop doing something, they aren't just doing it to be mean, they care about your safety!
