THE VISION

Committed to set the standard to experience an unparalleled intellectual, social and personal transformation focusing on the transformative power of neo and selective core as well as inter-disciplinary subjects which enables the students to transform their lives by gaining a sagacity of their talents, assessing their values and interests, mold the student community as the citizen-leaders of the society through deepened intellectual, social and personal transformation; intends to strengthen research activities through wide range of chronological, geographical and thematical researches and exceptional audio-visual teaching aids along with internet, spread the reputation of the Department to the global heights by involving in collaborations to conduct regional, national and international workshops, seminars and conferences through teamwork that is based on trust, integrity and innovation.

THE MISSION

The Department missions to enhance the numerical graph of higher education amongst the female youth of the region, educates students for a wide range of careers through broad chronological and geographical spectrum by building the core and transferable skills that opens the vistas for a wide range of employability and intellectual curiosity; elevates awareness about the past and its legacies by building skills of historical analysis through teaching, research, short term courses, well equipped library, study tours (local, statewide, regional and national); service and extension activities to support the pro-poor communities to strengthen the all round regional development and progress.

THE OBJECTIVES:

Being the most human discipline, the Department keenly intends to

• Promote participatory method of learning through organizing student seminars, group discussions and open discussions

• Organize regularly tours to historical places, museums and tourist destinations

• Develop interdisciplinary inquiry in the field of history like Archaeology, Cultural History, Social History, Women Studies, Tourism…
