About us
The undergraduate Degree Course for the department of computer science was started during the academic year 1998-99 with a sanctioned strength of 30 students, to meet the demand of IT professionals. The Department receives more than 1500 application forms for a sanctioned strength of 30 initially and later enhanced to 36 students.
Experienced and dedicated staff members are working in this department. The department constitutes of 8 Teaching faculty members and 2 programmers. Four faculty members are qualified with Ph.D. Six of the staff members have qualified with M.Phil Degree.
The department moulds our students to face the challenges of IT industries by conducting mock interviews, seminars and encourage them to participate in various inter collegiate competitions and bring laurels to the department and the institution.
Eighteen batches of students have completed the course successfully with more than 95% results every year. B.Sc computer science course for shift II was introduced in the year 2007. Nine Batches of students have completed the course successfully with more than 95% results every year. M.Sc Computer Science course was introduced during the year 2012-2013.
The Computer Lab is equipped with 64 computer systems of latest configuration, Microprocessor Kits, Digital Trainer, Printers, Scanner, CD/DVD Writer, Modem, UPS, Air conditioners, Overhead Projector, LCD Projector and Web Camera.
The Department has a library with a total of 1485 books (including reference books and manuals from software) and the laboratories are well equipped to meet the demands of the course. Every year the computer science association conducts seminars and workshops and invites eminent personalities to give talks in topics based on career opportunities and latest trends in computer science. Competitions are conducted to motivate the students.
