OpenEd - OpenEd.com not only contains student-centered materials like videos, articles, and a classroom feature that is connected to Google Classroom, but it also contains lesson plans geared towards common core standards. Teachers can filter from their grade level, type of activity (assessment, homework, video, lesson plan, etc.), and specific standard. After filtering, it provides a several detailed lessons on that standard for your classroom
Share My Lesson - This website is a great place to find interesting lessons to mix up your teaching tools in your classroom. Lessons are easily shared among teachers and then searched for by grade, subject, and standard. So far, I found a few great sources on giving speeches that I can incorporate in my unit on speeches.
Scholastic.com - From teachers to students, this site has helpful links for everyone in the classroom. They have blog posts and professional resources, student-centered games and activities, as well as specific searchable lesson plans that can be linked to common core and other classroom tools that focus on vocab, writing, books, and planning. The link provided here will take you to a lesson on practicing giving speeches, but you can search up your own, too!
Corte ingles Webquest - When learning clothing, students can go onto Corte ingles website, which is a large chain department store in Spain. The teacher can give the students a variety of terms in Spanish and they can look them up on the website to find what their meaning. The students can have fun shopping while learning vocabulary.
Heads up! For the classroom! Many of us are probably familiar with the game created by Ellen DeGeneres- Heads up! (If you are not, I highly encourage you download the app on your phone and play it with friends and family. It's great!) Now you can download charades which is a free version. You can also create your own deck. This games works better on iPads but if students have Smartphones they can use those as well. This would be great for learning vocabulary, conjugating verbs, and more!
Mystery Location Calls - This is one of the coolest sites I have found yet. Using Google Hangouts, your class can call another class and come up with a variety of questions to ask the 'mystery class' in order to find out their location. This is an awesome website and I think we could definitely use this in Spanish.
In this lesson plan, students create a 25 frame slide presentation all about themselves. They must import from the internet, use pictures and audio. Some of the frames include photo of them, college choices, hobbies, what they plan to do after school, etc. I think this also would be a great lesson plan as a way to introduce online students to each other and their instructor. Some of the frames would be different since this is geared to high school students, but still can be used on the college level. It would be a great way for adult students to get to using the internet and slides for future courses. This lesson plan reminded me of our slide presentation about ourselves in the beginning of this course.

Compassion and understanding are important qualities of a successful nurse. What do you wish someone had told you about studying, managing time, using resources, etc. when you were a first-year nursing student? Using Powtoon.com, each student in our senior Leadership Studies class creates an animated video presentation to share their five favorite study tips with a new sophomore level nursing student.
Say goodbye to traditional poster presentations by using Glogster. Presentations combine text, video, pictures, and graphics in stunning one page online presentations stored in the cloud. Students in NRS 200 prepare their Glog focusing on health promotion, wellness, and safety as they relate to the field of nursing as a student and as a professional.
