Matt Shulman: Head Varsity Coach

Coach Shulman is in his 3rd year at Blue Valley Northwest High School and 3rd year as a Head Coach. He comes to BVNW after serving the previous 3 seasons as the JV boys coach at Shawnee Heights High School in Topeka, Ks. During his time at Heights, he was apart of the 2017 5A State Championship team and worked under Steve Wallace. Prior to his time at Heights, he made stops at Blue Valley North, Piper High School and Perry-Lecompton. Coach Shulman grew up in Overland Park, Ks and was homeschooled from grades K-12. He graduated from KU with his Secondary Education degree. He's married to Kaitlin Shulman, living in Lawrence, Ks began teaches Academic Intervention at BVNW.

Carissa Alexander: Varsity Assistant Coach

Coach Alexander will be in her 2nd season as varsity assistant at Blue Valley Northwest. She was previously an assistant at BVSW for 6 years coaching freshman through JV and was on staff for both of the programs 5A state-runner up finishes under Rick Rhoades. She teaches special education at BVSW and is also the varsity assistant softball coach. Coach Alexander is a Blue Valley West graduate and enjoys giving back to the school district that she grew up in. She obtained her B.A. in Human Performance Sport and Exercise Science at New Mexico Highlands University and her MAT - SPED from Pittsburgh State University.

Kim White: C-Team Coach

Coach White is currently in her 20th year at Blue Valley Northwest High School, She teaches Broadcast Technology and advises the nationally recognized broadcast program, Husky Headlines. In addition to teaching at Northwest, She is an assistant basketball coach for the Lady Huskies. This is her 17th year as a member of the basketball coaching staff. During that time she has coached at various levels. She has had a love for the game since the age of 5 when she played on her first team and she finished her playing career with a scholarship to Park College, now Park University. In addition to coaching basketball, She is in her 13th year as the Head Softball Coach after serving as the varsity assistant the previous 7 years.

Michael Richards: Freshman Coach

Coach Richards joins us in his 1st year at Blue Valley Northwest High School where he teaches Earth Space Science and Biology. He comes from Oxford Middle School where he served as an assistant boys and girls basketball coach for 4 years, an assistant football coach for 2 years, an assistant track coach for 4 years, and taught 7th and 8th grade science. He is currently in his 2nd year as an assistant varsity football coach at BVNW. Coach Richards grew up in Hoisington, Ks and was a 4 year letterman in basketball and a senior captain. He graduated from Kansas State University with a B.S. in Biology and a B.S. in Secondary Education. He and his wife, Julie, live in Olathe, KS.
