Adventure Awaits: BVM Scouts & Guides Conquer the Himalayas!
Bala Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Adyar, organised the Bharat Scouts and Guides National Youth Adventure Programme held at Bhanupul, Manali, Himachal Pradesh, from 22 to 26 April 2025. A group of 27 Scouts and Guides, accompanied by two unit leaders and a teacher, participated in this enriching outdoor experience. The programme was aimed at instilling a spirit of adventure and self-confidence among the youth through various challenging activities.
Participants engaged themselves in adventurous activities such as trekking, rock climbing, rappelling, river crossing, zip-lining, archery, and rifle shooting, all set amidst the breathtaking Himalayan landscape. The adventure began with a scenic trek to Baror Parsha Waterfall, followed by a visit to the famous Jagathsukh Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Gayathri Devi. Students also enjoyed snow play at Koksar, explored the Anjani Matha Temple at Solang Valley, and trekked to a natural hot spring.
These experiences not only enhanced the students’ physical fitness but also strengthened their mental resilience and self-discipline. The programme encouraged teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving, while creating a platform for national integration and cultural exchange. It brought together Scouts, Guides, Rovers, and Rangers from across the country, fostering a spirit of unity and camaraderie. The natural setting served as a powerful reminder of the importance of environmental conservation and the need to protect our natural heritage. For many students, it was a chance to step out of their comfort zones and explore new terrains. The activities pushed their boundaries and helped them discover their inner strength.
The camp was a truly transformative journey that left participants with unforgettable memories and valuable life lessons. Bala Vidya Mandir is proud of its students for their enthusiastic participation and looks forward to many more such meaningful experiences.
