Siemens Empower Education (Previously Mentor Graphics HEP) Training

Placement Oriented Training conducted in College

To bridge the industry academia gap in terms of skill set requirements in the area of IC design and verification technologies, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Bharati Vidyapeeth’s College of Engineering (BVCOE), New Delhi, has collaborated with Siemens EDA (Mentor Graphics  (A Siemens Business) for training students on System Verilog. The System Verilog training material has been developed by North Carolina State University (NCSU), Carolina USA and Siemens EDA funded NCSU with technical inputs for the course. BVCOE and Siemens EDA have signed an Agreement to have access of this course.

To strengthen the course further, aiming student's placement in VLSI/semiconductor industries, Dept of ECE has augmented the training course content to include some of the important subjects like Linux, digital design, STA, CDC, Verilog HDL, UVM, C++, C and data structures, CMOS  along with System Verilog.  The training has several comprehensive projects during the course. The course is jointly conducted by BVCOE and M/s 3ST Technologies.

Dr  Manoj Sharma  (Associate  Professor,  Dept-  ECE,  BVCOE) together with external industry expert, Mr Sandeep Gupta (Director, 3ST Technologies, IIT Delhi Alumni) train and gloom  the  students  collaboratively, enabling  them to  ensure  their  breakthrough  in  VLSI  industries. Students are trained  on  these  skills  up to  the  fullest  quality  as  per industry requirements. Training-classes are conducted on Saturdays and Sundays which enable students to learn without affecting normal academic schedule of regular-classes. The rigorous training sessions cover theoretical aspects in deep, focusing on practical implementations of the concepts.  The course emphasis on implementing the learned techniques through dedicated examples and projects.

After completion of the ‘Siemens Empower Education’ (previously known as HEP) training, students have the opportunity to earn free ‘Siemens Academic Digital Badges’ from Siemens under 'Siemens Empower Education’ program.

Also, students can have certificates from ‘Siemens EDA Learning Services’ which would require students to attempt a test and pass the test with 80% and above.

After completeing the HEP Training students are working in following companies:

From Sand to Silicon: the Making of a Chip | Intel
