CSA - Community Supported Agriculture

Community-supported agriculture ( CSA model) is a system that allows the consumer to subscribe to the harvest of a certain farm or group of farms in advance for the growing season.  The customer pays up front thereby guaranteeing the farmer a base income, and in exchange gets a weekly box of produce from the farm.  Many CSAs also sell pasture-raised chickens, lamb and beef. CSA allows the producer and consumer to share the risks and rewards of farming.
