You may have heard of Buyers Agents from friends or family if they've been through a mortgage - and you may have heard of them if you're thinking of getting a mortgage, too.
You may wonder what Buyers Agents are and what they can do, especially if you know that they benefit people in many ways. Many people struggle through the mortgage process, but you don’t have to – especially if you have a mortgage broker on your side.
What can a buyers agency do?
Saving time and money are just 2 of the things that they can do for you. They can save you stress, effort and work, too! They can find you properties that you'll like for an affordable price, do the leg work for you throughout the process and offer you advice the whole time, too.
All of these things can make your time getting a mortgage easier (and that's not including the fact that they can get you a good price and property), and this is a huge benefit to anybody who wants to get a mortgage.
They can do so much to help you through the mortgage process, so it's important to carefully consider using them. They're great at helping and they can do so much, but do you really need one? If you're a first time buyer, or if you have a small amount of money and need a good property, then you may need the help of a broker.
How much do buyers agents cost?
After seeing all that they can do, you're probably thinking that they will cost you a lot of money. Well, if you thought that they would be expensive - you'll be surprised! Although they can sometimes be, it's not always the case; you may not need to pay any money out at all!
They often charge 1% of the property’s value and this usually needs to be paid when the mortgage process is over (not when you finish paying it off). If the property is worth a lot of money, then you'll be paying the broker quite a bit of cash, which is why they can sometimes be expensive.
However, some brokers will charge you nothing! Some Buyers Agents are paid by lenders to show you their properties and deals, so you may not even need to pay anything for their help. These brokers will only offer you deals from these lenders though, so just remember that you won't always get the best range of properties from a broker that gets paid by the lender.
