Sildenafil is used to treat erectile dysfunction (Impotence) in men, it increases blood flow to the penis to get or maintain an erection during sexual intercourse. Sildenafil is called a phosphodiesterase (PDE) inhibitor in a class of medications. Sildenafil also treats pulmonary arterial hypertension, it relaxes the blood vessels in the lungs so blood flows easily. It works by increasing blood flow to the penis to get or maintain an erection for erectile dysfunction, it better works when you are sexually aroused. While treating pulmonary arterial dysfunction, it relaxes the muscle and opens up the blood vessels in the lungs which decrease blood pressure in the lungs.

Uses of Sildenafil

To treat erectile dysfunction (Impotence) in men, you can take this medication directed by mouth. Take Sildenafil 30 minutes before sexual activity, but no more than 4 hours. Take Sildenafil one tablet a day, don’t overdose it. Consult your doctor if you have certain medical problems. If you are taking sildenafil to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension, take this medication 3 times a day with or without food. Take Sildenafil as prescribed by your Doctor and don’t overdose it.
