Our agreement with Snow & Sons is very straightforward: Snow & Sons will snow plow / snow blow all driveways, walkways and entrances to each unit and salt as needed after each storm.
Sometimes, however, Snow & Sons will come to Buttonball before a snow storm has ended to be helpful to us and/or to make the after-storm clean-up easier. Coming before the storm has ended is at Snow & Sons’ discretion. They have no contractual obligation to do this.
Typically Snow & Sons takes a first pass at the driveways and then not-too-much later returns with a snow blower and shovel to finish the driveways close to the garage as well as to remove the snow on the walkways.
The Board has reviewed with Snow & Sons the materials used to treat the walks and driveways. There is always a balancing act when using salt or sand. We want to ensure that all areas are as safe as possible without using a lot of chemicals. Excessive salt has in the past also contributed to the rusting of some garage doors.
Unit owner responsibilities:
· If you park in the driveway, please move your vehicle when the plow arrives so the entire driveway can be cleaned. If you go away for a few days, please park your car in your garage or give a key to someone who can move your vehicle for you.
· If you are home, please flip on your lights when plowing occurs at dusk or after nightfall. Good visibility will help Snow & Sons tremendously.
· Please be patient between driveway cleanup and sidewalk cleanup. If there is a problem after the sidewalks have been cleared, please let the Board know. Snow & Sons will remedy the situation as soon as possible, depending on the issue.
· All driveways and walkways will be treated at the discretion of Snow & Sons. No unit owner may request Snow & Sons to do otherwise. If you experience a problem with icy areas, please alert a Board member.
