Local Events

The primary focus of the Metamorphosis Butterfly Farm is pupa production to support exhibits that remain open for most of the year. However, local events, such as special short-term exhibits and butterfly releases (e.g. for weddings or celebrations of life) are supported when sufficient notice is given and resources are available.

Short-term exhibits

The Metamorphosis Butterfly Farm has a relatively mobile flight house that it can use when participating in local events. Those with their own enclosures can also potentially purchase butterflies.

Butterfly releases

The preferred method for butterfly releases is for an appointment to be made to pick up the butterflies, and instructions for their release, from the farm directly. Live butterflies are sold for $90 a dozen, plus Florida Sales Tax. The cost of a release enclosure, if needed, will be an additional charge. Butterflies will not be sold unless an enclosure that will not harm the butterflies is used.
