FAQ
Are you a member of Professional Photographers of America?
Yes I am a full member of PPA.
Can I bring someone with me to the shoot?
Yes with some important caveats. You’re welcome to bring someone if they’ll be supportive, positive, and contribute to a relaxed and creative atmosphere. For example, a friend who keeps the vibes upbeat or someone participating in the shoot is more than welcome.
However, I kindly ask that you do not bring anyone who might create stress or distractions this includes people who try to control the shoot(that was not pre-arranged), children who aren’t being photographed, or anyone likely to cause tension. The goal is to make this a fun, focused, and empowering experience for you.
If you’re unsure, just ask I’m happy to talk it through beforehand.
What should I wear?
Wear something that makes you feel confident, comfortable, and authentically you. Solid colors tend to photograph beautifully, and layered textures (like knits, denim, or linen) can add visual interest. Avoid bold logos or overly busy patterns unless they’re an intentional part of your style. Feel free to bring multiple outfit options we’ll pick together based on the look and mood you want to create.

Pro tip: Choose outfits in colors that complement your skin tone, and steer clear of anything too tight or uncomfortable you should feel amazing in whatever you wear.
Are your headshots zoomed out a bit too much?
Not really. I leave them zoomed/cropped out a bit intentionally so you can crop them to your desired format. Many different places need different aspect ratios such as Instagram, Facebook, printing... By giving you a bit more to work with this lets you change the aspect ratio as needed.
Do I need to do my own hair and makeup?
Yes for now, hair and makeup are your responsibility. Keep in mind that I typically use flash photography, which can wash out lighter makeup, so it’s best to be a bit heavy-handed with your application. Think of it like stage makeup slightly bolder than usual will read best on camera. If you need help deciding what works well, I’m happy to offer guidance!
Where do the shoots take place?
I have a cozy, dedicated photo space set up in my home, fully equipped for portraits, headshots, and more. If you're looking for something outdoors or a specific aesthetic, I’m happy to shoot on location too. Just note that any location rental fees will be your responsibility, but I’ll help you find something beautiful within your vision and budget.
When will I get my photos?
It depends on the package booked. For in studio headshots with light edits they are delivered before you leave. For others such as an on site session it will vary and we will discuss before you book. Normally it would be in a few days.
Why Are My Prices Lower Than Other Photographers?
I have built my entire workflow to be efficient without making your session feel rushed. By keeping overhead low and doing more preparation before the session, you pay for the photography itself rather than unnecessary expenses.
A Fully Mobile Studio
Instead of maintaining an expensive commercial studio, I bring professional lighting, backdrops, and equipment directly to your home, workplace, venue, or selected location. This gives you more flexibility while keeping costs lower.
Flexible Scheduling
My flexible work-from-home schedule allows me to offer sessions during weekdays, lunch breaks, evenings, and other off-hours without relying only on weekends.
Simple, Low-Cost Systems
I keep website and administrative expenses low by using streamlined systems and a custom client portal. Your preferences and session details are collected ahead of time, so we can spend more of your session creating.
Efficient Editing
My custom workflow allows us to review images during the session and make adjustments in real time. This helps us get the lighting, posing, and expression right before you leave.
Quality Built Into Every Image
I focus on creating the final look through thoughtful lighting and direction rather than relying on heavy editing afterward. Less editing time does not mean lower quality. It means the quality is built into the photograph from the beginning.
In-House Printing
I handle printing in-house using a high-end home photo printer. While it’s not the same as large commercial lab equipment, the results are extremely close to what most people would see from a professional print lab.
This lets me offer prints faster and at a lower cost, without a noticeable difference for the average person.
What This Means For You
You get high-quality images without paying for unnecessary overhead
You spend less time waiting for edits
You’re part of the process and can see results immediately
You’re paying for skill and efficiency, not inflated business costs
If anything, my pricing reflects how streamlined the process is, not the value of the final images.
And honestly, I’d rather keep my prices accessible and work with more people than overcharge and shoot less.
Do you have Insurance?
Yes I hold a General Liability Insurance though PPA and Lockton Affinity.
Do you use AI
This is a more complex issue so please read my full policy here. But the short of it is No I do not use AI in my photography in the way most people think of AI.
