This privacy policy applies to the BusTrack application (hereinafter referred to as "Application"). This application is provided by the developer as a tool for tracking buses. 

1. Introduction 

Welcome to Bus Track ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). The App is designed to help passengers track buses in real-time. It serves two types of users: Drivers (who broadcast their location) and Passengers (who track buses). 

2. Information We Collect 

We collect information based on how you use our App:

• For Drivers (Registered Users): To ensure passenger safety and verify the authenticity of the drivers, we require drivers to create an account. During sign-up, we collect the following personal and sensitive data: Full Name, Mobile Number, Email ID, and Password. We also collect verification documents: Aadhaar Number, Aadhaar Photo, Driving License Number, and Driving License Photo.

• For Passengers (Guest Users): Passengers do not need to register, log in, or create an account. We do not collect any personal data, account information, or location data from passengers.

3. Location Data Collection (Crucial for Drivers) 

Background Location Access: For the core functionality of the App, we collect real-time location data from Drivers. We collect and process location data in the background even when the app is closed or not in use. This is strictly required so that the bus can be continuously tracked by passengers on their route (Government, Free, or Private buses) from the start location to the destination without the driver needing to keep the app open on their screen at all times. Location sharing only starts when the driver actively clicks the "Start Tracking" button. 

4. How We Use Your Information 

1. Manual Verification: We do not use automated bots or computer systems for verification. An authorized Admin manually logs into the admin panel and reviews the submitted Aadhaar and Driving License photos/numbers to verify the driver's identity before approving the account.

2. Account Access via WhatsApp: We use the driver's mobile number to securely send their approved Driver ID and Password via a WhatsApp message once the admin approves the account.

3. Live Tracking: We use the driver's location data and bus details (Bus Number, Route, Type) to broadcast the live position to passengers via Firebase.

5. Account and Data Deletion

We respect your right to privacy. Drivers can request the deletion of their account and all associated data at any time.

• Deletion Process: Drivers can go to the "Driver Activity Page" and click on the "I want to delete my account" option. The App will automatically fetch the Driver ID, Name, and Mobile Number from our Firebase database.

• Verification for Deletion: To prevent unauthorized deletions, the driver must enter a valid reason and upload a verification photo (a handwritten letter).

• Complete Removal: Once the delete request is submitted, all your personal data, including Aadhaar details, Driving License photos, and tracking history, will be permanently deleted from our servers within 24 hours. Passengers do not have accounts, so no deletion is required for them.

6. Data Security and Storage

We take data security seriously and employ industry-standard practices to protect your information. We use Google Firebase Realtime Database to securely store text data, route selections, and account details.

To manage media efficiently and securely, driver verification images (such as Aadhaar Photos, Driving License Photos, and Account Deletion Verification Photos) are uploaded to Cloudinary (a secure cloud-based media management platform). The application generates a secure image hosting URL (e.g., a secure Cloudinary reference link) and stores only this reference URL inside our Firebase Realtime Database.

Only authorized administrators have access to the admin panel to view these secure database records and document links during the manual verification process. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information, database records, or media links with third parties for marketing purposes.
