Business Digitalisation Track
Internship 2
Internship 2
In the Business Digitalisation (BD) Track, students embark on their internships twice. Internship 1 is from July to August for a total of 8 weeks and Internship 2 from November to February of the following year.
NP offers multiple pathways of learning to prepare its students for a fast-changing future. In the Internship 2 period students may have to attend classes once a week during October semester, except during the 2-week break in December. The total number of "missing" days for the internship sums up to 3.5 days.
Companies can choose to "make-up" for the "missing" days by doing one of the following:
Extend the hours of work within the 4 working days in the week (except during semester break weeks);
Replace the day with work on Saturdays; or
Extend the internship period beyond the end of internship in February.
Through these options, student will work effectively for 5 days a week. This will remove any complications with computing allowances for the internship.
Two key objectives of the BD Track are:
Enable students to apply, deepen and expand relevant business digitalisation knowledge and skills
Contribute to the business digitalisation efforts of SMEs
As such, the internship programme is deliberately structured to focus on specific company digitalisation projects. Students are expected to play a pivotal role in the initiation and completion of such projects, wherever feasible.
