I hail from Ijare,Ondo state, Nigeria. I received my bachelor's and masters degree in Botany and Mycology from the University of Ibadan, Oyo state. I received my PhD in Microbiology from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), under Prof. Guo Liangdong. ​After UCAS, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI, After that, I moved on to a higher postdoctoral position at the University of Georgia Athens where I am currently working on the sorghum microbiome project  (see Research section). 

​When I'm not at work, I have more hobbies than I know what to do with. I love swimming, hiking, and dancing. I'm not very good at dancing. I mostly just like to dance with my daughter as a means to relax and meditate.  I also enjoy gardening and watching TV with my family, reading and volunteering with my local community.
