Mark your calendars for our next big event in August.  Summerfest will be coming round again on the 2nd Sunday of August 09, 2026

The North Hennepin Pioneer Society invites alumni, family, friends, neighbors and people interested in local history to Summerfest.

The NH Pioneer Society hosts the event with the help of area businesses. Featured activities will be returning entertainment by Rod Cerar' an International Entertainer-featuring the "Music of our Lives", free face painting by Encore Entertainment, touring of the school and a chance to sit at a student desk, Kid's games, door prizes and raffle prizes, flea market, plus a local food wagon, BSQ's BBQ, Bryan Swanson, "Pitmaster"!

The Summerfest event will be held on the school grounds of Corcoran's Burschville School District #107. The school is located 4 ½ miles West of Corcoran on Hennepin County Road #10 at: 22995 County Road 10, and is open to the public. 

Funds collected at Summerfest help with the expenses and maintenance of the last one-room school in Corcoran.  One project at a time!

We started out in 2025 with huge goals to accomplish; repairing and sprucing up the exterior of the school. Our four largest jobs were; rebuilding the chimney and capping it, adding roof underlayment and replacing the wood shakes, replacing damaged wood siding and lastly, repainting the exterior.   Ashton McGee Reconstruction completed the chimney & roofing jobs on all buildings. Verdich Construction replaced wood siding and Shane Dyreson completed painting the school and outhouses.  

This all came about with the help of donations from members, friends and neighbors. A large portion of additional funds were secured from the City of Corcoran.  Gambling funds given to the City were presented to us for this huge project. Without this assistance the work could not have been accomplished. It was a fantastic season finale. Many thanks to the Community! We couldn't do it without YOU! Summerfest invites you to come see what's happening at our little Gem in Corcoran. You can walk through those doors and remember a simpler time when children attended a little one-room school in the country.
