In 1894 on County Road 10, a quarter mile east of County Road 19, in the little town of Burschville, a school was built . The land was donated by the Weinand family for the purpose of building a school. Remnants of the town of Burschville are gone, though the school remains to remind us of those long-ago days. District 107 served the farming community until May 1967, when the school closed and the furnishings were sold at an auction.
The North Hennepin Pioneer Society was formed and they purchased the one-acre piece of land from the Weinand family, keeping it as a historical site. Many volunteers in the community devoted years to repairing, painting, searching, buying and accepting donations, to again resemble the one room school house you may remember.
It is the North Hennepin Pioneer Society's vision that the Burschville One Room School House will remain in our community to enlighten and enrich future generations to come.
