3rd Tie Breaker – Least Goals Conceded
4th Tie Breaker – Most Shutouts
5th Tie Breaker – Coin Flip
Sportsmanship - There is no advantage to winning by more than 5 goals. We hope that every game is competitive, but understand that is not always the case. Please attempt to employ tactics to manage scoring if your team is overpowering the other team and able to score at will.
MOST FUTSAL RULES WILL APPLY!
We will use a futsal ball. Size 3 for U12 and under, size 4 for U14.
Games will be started with a kick-off at midfield. Home team (team listed first on schedule) will kick-off. In the event of uniform conflicts, home team will change.
NO TIMEOUTS.
There are both direct and indirect kicks in this tournament. Kickoffs are INDIRECT.
U12 and younger, the ball cannot be thrown by the goalkeeper over half field on the fly. The ball must touch another player or the ground before crossing midfield. Restart for this infraction is INDIRECT.
If the ball goes out of bounds over the sideline, the game will resume with a kick-in (instead of throw-in).
If a foul is called, the game will resume with a free kick at the spot of the foul.
If the ball goes out of bounds over the end line, either a corner kick or goal throw will be awarded.
Loose interpretation of the 4 second rule will be followed (will allow around 6 seconds for young teams as long as they are trying to get the ball in). We understand that not all teams may be futsal teams, but time cannot be wasted on set pieces.
After a goal, restart the game with a kick-off at midfield.
Free kick distance (between ball and opposing players) is 10 ft.
Goals can be scored from any distance
All playoff games requiring overtime will be golden goal. One 5 minute overtime period will be played. If neither team scores, game will be decided by PKs. Each team will have 3 shooters. If the game is still tied after each team’s shooters have taken their PK, kicks go to sudden death. Teams will alternate shots until a winner is decided.
Referee decisions are final
No slide tackling. Slide tackles will result in a DIRECT KICK. Goalies may slide inside the goal area to make a save, outside the goal area it is a foul.
No time wasting/stalling to protect the lead
Teams must submit a roster and have all players complete a liability waiver prior to playing their first game. Roster/Liability waiver will be sent to teams along with the schedules.
This is a fundraiser tournament. It is being run for the student athletes, by the student athletes. There will be zero tolerance for referee abuse, whether it is an adult or student referee. Respectful conversation and asking questions is one thing, but condescending comments or passive aggressive statements are also considered abuse as much as screaming, yelling, and swearing. Adult supervision will also be at the fields to help the student referees with conflict resolution.
