In my former life I was a Teacher and Instructional Coach. My husband Randy and I are now the proud owners of a New Mexican inspired Coffee Cart called The Burque Bean Experience. 

As an English Teacher, I spent A LOT of time in coffee shops grading papers. You learn a lot about coffee after the 25th Mocha you order because you are too intimidated to order anything else. Thanks to many knowledgable (and patient!) Baristas, I was able to experience numerous flavors of Lattes, Americanos, & Flat Whites which fueled my late nights so I could inspire my students early each morning.

The Burque Bean Experience started organically as a treat for teachers. Over the years I have worked with AMAZING educators who work tirelessly to support their students, often sacrificing prep time, weekends, and sleep to attend meetings, professional development sessions, and to plan innovative lessons to prepare their students for success in a rapidly changing world. Coffee fueled much of the work I did as an Instructional Coach with frequent stops at Starbucks and Coffee Bean on my way to meet with Teachers, Administrators & Counselors.

I am a proud Burqueña from Albuquerque, NM. We take an IMMENSE amount of pride in our unique flavors. So as the coffee started to flow regularly - I decided to ditch the Starbucks and started bringing back NM Piñon coffee. Teachers LOVED it. It gave me a chance to share my culture with them. And over time - and many iterations - percolated into a full menu of NM inspired Lattes and Americanos.

We specialize in bringing New Mexico coffee culture to Los Angeles by infusing the flavors that are unique to NM into Coffee, Lattes and Americanos. We use products from New Mexico including New Mexico Piñon Coffee and the NM Tea Company.
