Video Chats/Virtual Visitation
Duration: 15-minute limit for all phone or video chats
Availability: Conducted as staffing permits.
Eligibility: Access is a privilege. Residents may lose visitation/phone privileges as a sanction for rule violations.
Requirement: The visitation list must be finalized two weeks prior to the Resident's employment date. No changes are allowed after this deadline.

1st Weekend (Mon-Sun) : A through E
2nd Weekend (Mon-Sun) : F through L
3rd Weekend (Mon-Sun) : M through S
4th Weekend (Mon-Sun) : T through Z
Clothing/Item Drop Off
Family members must call the facility first prior to dropping off clothing or other permitted items for a resident. Upon speaking to a staff member you will be permitted to drop off allowed items at the front door of the facility Monday through Thursday from 8am to 5pm. One drop off is permitted. After your one drop off, any other allowed items may be mailed into the facility. FAMILY MEMBERS MAY NOT COME ONTO THE FACILITY PROPERTY UNANNOUNCED. You must confirm a time with staff.

Commissary Funds: If you choose to send your family member money please send or bring money orders. (Cash And Personal Checks Are Not Accepted)

Furloughs
1. Eligibility & Allowances
To be eligible for furloughs, a Resident must be employed and in full compliance with all program rules, including behavioral and class requirements.
Phase 3 - One 8-hour furlough - Can be traded for one Phone Call or Video Chat
Phase 4 - Two 8-hour furloughs* - Can be traded for two Phone Calls or Video Chats
*Phase 4 furloughs are limited to one per month.
Note: If a Resident is unable to take a furlough, they must submit a written request to trade it for a Google Chat or Phone Call.
2. Schedule & Timing
Hours: Furloughs are strictly 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Strict Return Time: Residents must be checked back in by 5:00 PM.
Example: If a Resident leaves late (e.g., 9:30 AM), they are still due back by 5:00 PM.
Deadline for Request: Weekend furlough forms must be placed in the dorm box by the Monday evening prior to the requested date.
Blackout Dates: Furloughs are not permitted during the last week of a Resident’s program.
Validity: Furloughs must be used during the specific Phase time period. Unused furloughs are void and cannot be rolled over.
3. Sponsor & Transportation Rules
Who can be a sponsor?
A sponsor must be a family member listed on the Resident's initial intake furlough form.
Must be approved by the Assistant Director (or designee).
Important: New names cannot be added after a Resident begins the employment component or is placed at a job site.
Vehicle & Liensing Requirements
Driver's License: The family member must present a valid, current Driver’s License (Texas/State compliant) upon pickup.
Vehicle Compliance: The vehicle must comply with State Law regarding ownership/registration.
No Public Transport: Privately paid transport (Uber, Taxi, Lyft, etc.) is prohibited.
Pickup & Drop-off Procedure
The approved family member listed must be the driver.
The same person who checks the Resident out must be the one to return them to the facility.
Any variation to this rule is a violation and will result in sanctions.
4. Code of Conduct & Restrictions
Warning: Furloughs are a privilege, not a right. They can be revoked if a Resident is not in compliance with rules or behavioral expectations.
Contraband: No items may be brought back into the facility from a furlough.
Note: Allowed items must be mailed or delivered to the front desk during business hours only.
Meals: Sack lunches/sandwiches are provided for Residents only upon their return from furlough.
Late Returns: If a Resident returns after 5:00 PM:
Additional days may be added to their program.
Future furloughs will be revoked.
5. Emergency Furloughs
Requests for emergency or medical furloughs are reviewed on a case-by-case basis during Staff meetings and with the sending CSCD Supervision Officer.
