Welcome to Burnaby Speedskating Club!
Welcome to Burnaby Speedskating Club!
Our club was founded in 1968 and has been providing opportunity and access to the sport of speed skating to local and surrounding communities ever since. Our training sessions take place at Kensington Park Arena in Burnaby.
Our club operated under the name “Haida” since 1968 when it was formed as part of a community affiliation with the UBC Thunderbirds athletics programs. The club moved to Kensington Arena in Burnaby in 1972. In 2017, the club officially dropped the name “Haida”, as the club and its members (former and present) have no affiliation or relationship with the Haida Nation peoples. The club is in the process of transitioning to a new club name and logo.
In 2018 the Club celebrated its 50th Anniversary.
The first ice session will be on September 6, 2025.
