To facilitate a better count experience we ask all birders to submit their checklists via eBird. For day counts (CBC, SBC) we recommend starting a new checklist for each location you bird during the day. 

We also encourage folks to sign up to cover a designated "block" (see count page) in advance of the count to help ensure broad coverage of the count circle. That said, all are welcome to contribute via eBird regardless of block designations (so long as checklists are within the count circle).

eBird steps

Join the Durham CBC Trip Report. Please join before you submit your first checklist (you can even join days in advance; only checklists submitted during count day will be reported).

1. Click the join link.

2. Click "join trip report" (you must first be logged into your eBird account). See screenshot below.

3. Click "save and view trip report". Please don't adjust the time or settings! See screenshot below.

Yay, you've joined 🥳. Now you can submit individual checklists the day of and they will automatically be compiled to the CBC trip report. 

(optional) create your own trip report - this will combine only your checklists for your own records. Your totals will still go to the CBC/SBC Trip report. Details.
